Here is a list of some really good ones.

Please post submissions to this with:
1) The map seed # (of course)
2) The map layout (eg: Large+Valley, Medium+Mountain, etc)
3) The version # of Banished
4) If you are using any map mod, you must list it
5) Date you last tested the seed #

I know this is an old thread, but as someone who recently discovered this game, I want to share what is my favorite map seed thus far: 555683776. (Valleys, Medium) I play the game on easy thus far, and it gave me the best starting area of any map I've had yet - and I've attempted about 15 cities thus far. You start out along the main river with a wooded area to the top good for a forester set (forester/hunter/gatherer) a short walk from town, and an open area good for a market and town buildings below. South of that is some good flat area for farming. There's even enough land just west of town against the mountain to get a starter pen for whichever animal you get - I got sheep. For the first time I've been able to integrate the starter town into the overall design. I mirrored it on the other side to make sure the shed for the farms will be within market range. I think it's the best starter area I've found yet! For initial lay out and farm expansion in the first several years as population grows, I give it a 9/10. It's resource rich, so I can put the mine and quarry on hold, but the mountains west of town will probably become a mining outpost.

As a returning player; I'm glad you posted. All the old map seeds have changed. Patch 1.0.6 they changed the map generator.

Medium Valley - 52239394 has such a HUGE and continuous flat area, that you don't even need a bigger map.

I did the achievement mountain men easy.

It has a flat area to start and you can expand to other bigger near. Finally there is another flat area far away crossing a river.

This is a great map. I have a few doubts about it size but that flat areas are perfects for the Isolanist achievement

This thread really needs locking as the first few pages of this thread refer to version 1.0.4 and the latest version uses a new map generator so those seeds won't generate the same any more.

lol that post is even worse....

this thread has become a bit of a legend in this game. i think its cool to see the history of the game and map seeds.

i also updated the first post with current build map seeds last year, but you dont even really need it because you can always just READ THE THREAD :D

I have been playing Banished lately. My computer is old so I use the mega mod 007. My computer gets mad if I try and use 8 let alone 9. I found a great map using the shipwrecked hard option.
