I'm not gonna lie, I don't have a great laptop. It cost around £300. I was just wondering if this game needs a rlly high end pc to run it?? I don't know much about computers so a simple yes or no will do

The link takes you to a site that will check your pc specs and if you can run the game. Just search banished. If you don't want to check the link, my answer is no it doesn't require a good pc to play, but I can't tell if you can play it if I don't have any more information about your pc.

Btw. you'll have to download a file for it to work, it can take a minute or two, but usually no more.

The game spec ssys '512 MB DirectX 9.0c compatible card'.

However, I am running this game on a PC with a 256MB HD3200 integrated card. OK, I've set most things to low settings, but so far have had no problems. I've got a population of around 55 and so far have not noticed a performance drop as my population has grown. And, to be honest, I find the graphics perfectly acceptable even though I'm using low settings.

So even if the link that Pure Anger mentions comes back saying 'No', doesn't mean it won't still run. For info, it says my PC fails the min spec, but I'm happily playing it. And there are other games I play that it also fails on (eg, PayDay: The Heist)

One thing to be aware of any system requirements discussion around Banished - the biggest system challenge is population. Many people experience lag when their population hits around 500 and some find it nearly impossible to play above 1000. I've gone 1500-2000 on one system, but it was painfully slow.

Having said that, you can have a lot of fun with the game with far less that 500 people. In fact, I'd say you never need more than a few hundred population at most to enjoy 99% of the content, including what mods add.

Anyway... just something to be aware of...

The site isn't 100% accurate, the same goes for requirements for games. As SerioulsyDave says it will become much more demanind the more people you have, so the minimum requirements might be the requirements to enjoy the game to its fulles, meaning very high population (that is just a theory though).

The site isn't accurate at all. I tried it for games I can run fine and it said that I didn't even have the minimal requirements

I don't think that is the sites fault though, I think it pulls the requirements from what the developers of the game has placed, so they are the ones that should be blamed for placing "wrong" minimum requirements. They might have set it higher than minimum so that they would know for sure the game would work for the computer rather than being blamed for it not working on certain computers later.

I agree. I'll also suggest that, as my card is 5 years old, the developers wouldn't even think to test their games against such old cards.

This is by no means a system hog of a game. I have it set to max settings with a mid-grade laptop. I obviously can't say how mine compares to yours without knowing the specifics, but you should be able to have a very enjoyable experience with a low-spec machine, at least up to a certain population (as others have mentioned).
