I can tell you though, there are Many many many other games out there that have tried and failed to replicate this game. Some are okay, some are not good, and some have enhanced the ideals of Banished. But Not a single one of them is the same as banished. Nor do the copycat games have the intensity that this game can have, Most of the other games that claim survival city builders, don't have the uhm, learn the mechanics of my game or die, that Banished has. Most other city builder/survival games, are much easier to learn than Banished as well.
Sorry, I got my wires crossed. The game I suspect of ripping off Banished is called Settlement Survival -- mythic heroes was the sponsor for the video.

There's the gameplay for Settlement Survival.
Right, but I don't think acknowledging inspiration just means you get to rip off visual elements without permission or compensation, which is why I was curious if the Banished folks knew about it / were involved.
Or are you referring to the fact that the grass is green?
everything is totally different from vanilla, you may see some similarities to the CC mod.
