Check this out. I don't recall doing this myself when I got the achievement. I checked my achievements history and found that I got Jack of all Trades and Master Trader on the same day and within a half hour of each other. Jack of all Trades came first then Master Trader. This makes me wonder it I was out to get Master Trader and got Jack of all Trades as a bonus. This happened to me a few times.

If you are failing because you think people die then I'm quite surprised. People will generally live for 70 to 80 years and they age 4 years in 1 game year. So the 5 year period will age people 20 years. If you are failing then I suggest your population is quite small. By just having a bigger population I believe this will work itself out. Remember you need a 200 population, so if you have that already then I'm even more surprised it has not happened.

I assume you are not using mods.

I can't even remember getting Jack of all Trades. It came Naturally, so did Getting the Best Dressed, and Best Tools, as well. Cuzz for me, I always Built with Stone HOuses, and used Best Tools I could build, and Best clothing as well.

Build the Best, Use the Best, and Build everything the Vanilla game has to offer is how to get some of the Achievements. Trading Came easily for me too. Cuzz again with the Best, it was just normal for me to want to provide everything for my populations. So first time my towns hit 100, I kinda got all the "Easy to get" Achievements, without even knowing I what I was doing.

Just be sure not to have ANY MODS and they will come.

Glad to hear you say that maiden 'cause much as I would like to brag about getting achievements I just sort of bumbled into them while earnestly trying to learn how to play the game. The only achievements I actually set out to get were the Wells, Mountain Man and Tenure. All the others just came along. Actually I never had thought about achievements for any game I play since mostly I play "old" games.

Banished is my First Steam Game ever, so I had no clue what Achievements even were, they were just some annoying popup on my screen at first, and I had a really hard time finding out what they were, cuzz I was busy playing my game lol. I finally looked them up and saw how close I was to Master Builder's two Achievements, just needed the Taverns and Churches, I think, Taverns for sure, cuzz I am fundamentally adverse to using my food for anything other than getting more food, and I never saw the value in using up my food for making ale. Even as a trade item lol. I just saw it as a loss to my food supplies. lol. And I was new to the game as well, so it never occurred to me to build the taverns. The churches, were just a need for stone was always short supplies .

Once I knew about the achievements, I went for them all. I even wrote a guide after I got uneducated. lol.
