Help with Storage Barns
I have a pop of 281 peeps. I have 18 Storage Barns and 9 Markets. I am getting message that states my produced goods area are full. Every time I build a new barn, it immediately fills up. Suggestions?

Only thing I can suggest is turning off some of your production buildings for a while. If you've got a big surplus of tools, shut your blacksmiths down for a bit, etc. That or load it all into trading posts and sell it.

build enough barns until they start becoming less full, or build a trading post and sell off the surplus :steamhappy:

Keep in mind that storage is by weight. Clothing and Tools weigh 10, while food is only 1 each. A Barn holds 6000, a Market 10,000 and a Trading Post 60,000. You should have a reasonable surplus (2-3 years?). After that, you should probably cut back on production. Building an extra Trading Post (especially on a lake with no river access) for extra storage really makes sense. If you aren't going for achievements, you could use the Ridiculous Storage mod from blackliquidsoftware.com.

You can also lower your produced goods limit so that you don't end up over stocking, it'll save you from having to build more barns and fiddle around ith workers and production buildings.

this also has the added benefit of having the workers act as labourer when they have filled their qoutas.

More markets.

For 281 people, I would probably have 3 markets and 30 barns.

Note that market and barn has different storage system.
- Barn stores everything (except log, firewood, coal, iron, stone). Everyone can put stuff in and get stuff out. I might store a single item, or a veriety of items.
- Market store item by percentage of each type (food, medicine, fuel, textile, clothing, tool, materials). Once a certain type hit the max percentage, it can't store anymore of that type even it's only half full. It will also store firewood, coal, log, iron. Not everyone can put stuff in.

Moreover, barn is for storing, market is for distributing.

As already mentioned, you need to adjust your production limits. Everything is fairly predictable in terms of consumption so check your Town Halls stats and adjust things accordingly. You only need a couple of years reserve of most things. And building Trade Posts just for storage is something I do all the time.
