I'm not sure, still pretty new to the game, but given that there's no mill nor baker buildings to be built I'd imagine the wheat is only used in brewing and not for actual food. I can't imagine people just eating wheat directly off the stalk and with no mill and no baker they can't bake it into bread.

Production per worker:
- Early game stage: gatherer and crop farm.

- Late game stage: pasture and crop farm.

Wheat and corn are the only two source of grain in the game.

Fishermen are important as well, they provide protein year-round. You'll want a solid foundation of Gatherers (also year round) and fishermen, and supplement/round out with farmers and eventually livestock.

Thanks bro.
So wheat isn't used as food?

Thanks. I always use a lot of gatherers, hunters and fishermen

Wheat is food. Crop fields and orchards produce food. Some can be use as raw material to make ale (wheat and all fruits). Nuts are protein. For a balanced diet, you will need at least one of each food type: protein, grain, vegetable, and fruit.

Fishing needs lot of water within the circle. Avoid building bridge and TP too close the FD. You can keep the productivity high with houses and barns next to it. If the closest barns are full and the worker need to walk further away to store the fish, production will drop (people mistaking it as "over fishing").

Thanks again 😘

Yeah I was very wrong about the wheat thing. I'm sorry. I guess people are just munching on it straight off the stalk, which is super weird lol. That or every house comes equipped with it's own little mill so people can mill it into flour to bake their own bread.

yeah, it's weird

Beans are the fastest crop to grow and complete harvesting. But all crops just count as 1 unit towards food.
Gatherers Huts are the easiest to set up and get running and produce food all year round.
Orchards take 3 to 4 years before you see any crop from them.
The meats are good for trading as 1 meat unit can be turned into 3 units of most other food types.

Yeah, i noticed the trade value of meat (excluding fish)

The thing with that trading meat strategy is you have to already have a surplus food production in order to have spare meat to trade so it's kinda' moot, isn't it?
Horoai Dec 1, 2017 @ 10:46am
Most productive food source is fruit ale, sold at the trader.

You SHOULD always have more food than you need. IIRC it's 100 food per person per year to break even...produce more than that at all costs because next year you might have a bad harvest and end up with half or sometimes even less than what you normally reap. Every season or so, increase your trader inventories a little bit, with the stuff that harvests every season of course. Iron, tools, firewood, stone, clothing, etc are also pretty good for trading.
