is there a way to get a truly flat map?

i just want to practice and build a town on a 100% flat terrain with maybe a river and hill on one side of the map for trade and mines but all the rest will be flat


i searched for map seeds all i find are results from 2014 and they are not even good maps filled with rivers and little islands

The 2014 seeds are meaningless now as the map generator changed during the 1.0.6 release.
As for finding a flat map, probably zero chance as all maps are randomly generated.

The only way to get a flat map is to use a mod. Colonial Charter has a nice Flat Plains map, but it comes with LOTS of extra stuff. Discrepancy has created a number of new starts/maps. I'm using the Plain with Lake map. Has a nice lake, a large river and only a few streams. No hills except around the edges. I got it by using MegaMod. I think it is part of Discrepancy's DS Small Village mod (nice mod - much smaller than Colonial Charter). You can check with Discrepancy by going to WorldofBanished.com.

Been looking at some of my maps and I did find one post 1.0.6 map that has a couple of nice open areas:

Nice open area you can see and then also to the right of that bottom lake.

edit: Wow this is an amazing seed.

edit2: But at start very little Iron, really hard to get past this, but i build a mine and will see.

Glad you like it.

I can't remember where all the iron is, but if you use 'Hard' start as you don't get any buildings then you can maybe move to a more iron rich spot.

I also never build stone houses so that saves a whole bunch of iron.

I always start on Hard/Harsh, but its okay, started out slow (around 20 Years, only around 25 People), but i horded all iron, to build a town hall and took in alot of nomads, have two mines now both with 5 Workers (Coal and Iron) and im only in Year 27 now. With around 80 People. My Iron is piling up (near to 500)
I really enjoy the map.

For a very large Plains or Verdant Plains, I use 867530999. I then use the flatten terrain tool to get rid of the right 2 lakes as well as the streams and a few hills.

Kralyerg recently posted a new mod at WorldofBanished.com that lets you use the terrain types available in Colonial Charter. There are some wonderfully flat map types available such as Flat Plains.
