Verdun

What's the fun?
Maybe I'm just really unlucky, but Verdun seems to be the only FPS I'm bad at. Combining that with cheap deaths, I just don't see how it's very enjoyable.
How is it people do so well?

Not enough fully auto weapons for you or....?

What aspect do you find most challenging (or frustrating)?

Being killed in situations I had no control over.
I like the bolt action rifles, though. Pistols feel a bit cheap at times, but they play their role. The odd one out is the machine pistol for the germans, if anything.

Well that was sorta ww1 for yah, that why soldiers always dreaded going over the top because of its wastefulness of human life with very little to no gain. This isnt a game you concentrate on getting a good k/d on. This is simply a game where u experience ww1 situations and try to win. If u like the weapons but not frontlines i might recommend rdm if there are people playing that, thats more k/d oreinted and might be more your speed.

The fun is in the tactics and teamwork involved. Verdun is seriously one of the most teamwork oriented games I've played, and makes it especially challenging.

I would've thought that playing Sniper Elite for 20 hours would've helped me lmao

As Seangis Khan said. Being a sniper or trying not to die may also not be the best to get some fun in Verdun. The fun things is that it doesn't even matter that much if you die, you gotta take some risk to get into the enemy lines and it feels great if you manage ot capture them and win.
The first suggestion was also not too bad if you ask me, wheni got started with this game i used to mostly play grenadier and played it in the most agressive way possible and as a result i died quite a bit, often even had the most deaths of my team but i still got to blow up groups of enemies in their line and sometimes managed to infiltrate and melee kill them from the back so it was a lot of fun for me.

Just hang in there man, it will be fun! For me, the first 5 hours was extremely painful.. Then I turned off mouse acceleration and bam! I started hitting an enemy or two! The next 5 hours was still painfull, but there was hope... About 10 hours in, I learned how to change classes (weapons) and teams, read the sqaud guide http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=182831658 and began to recognize some danger areas of the maps. Then the pain was gone.
After a while, you will see that there are very few cheap deaths in this game. No laser weapons, guided missiles or tanks on hill. If you get shot, you almost always had the chance to shoot the other guy. Just remember that the top of your head can be visable even though you cannot se over an obstacle. So stay down, and it you need to have a look, stand up - peek - and crouch back down. Saw a guy? align your crosshair while crouched- stand up and fire - get back down. DO NOT try to crawl over the top/sandbags, they will see your head before you see them. Good luck m8.

Good tips. I think I was taking this as a squad-based shooter rather than an objective-based "wwI-em-up"
Friendlier than the in-game community for sure lmao
