140 Update - New Level Added
We put up a major update for 140 adding a brand new level for free!

Please report any bugs you might find.

Changelog:

  • New level added with original mechanics and a new boss fight!
  • Less input lag and improved player character physics
  • Configuration pop up removed and game controllers now assign mappings automatically
  • The save game is now stored in a file (next to the executable) instead of in registry
  • Cloud saves
  • Trading cards added
  • Faster loading of levels
  • Unity engine update from 3 to 5
  • (Major bug fix) On rare hardware, the game would not sync correctly to the music. This has been fixed.
  • (Major bug fix) D-pad now works correctly in the end boss
  • Lots of minor bug fixes and small improvements.

Enjoy!

Sorry for spam, but
while you're on those engine updates, could you not publish a Linux build for THOTH?

Awesome!

I do wonder if we're supposed to be able to jump while moving on the "ceiling"? Either I just missed something about that part, which is good if so, but it looks like I might be unable to proceed due to not being able to jump after the flip.

This is on the Linux build.

Many thanks for the update!

Pretty sure it's intended. Completed the level without jumping.

Nope, just like in the second stage, you cannot jump from ceilings by design.

Nice addition! What about the soundtrack? Any plans?

Thanks. Apparently it has been long enough for me to have forgotten that about the second stage. :S

It's out now ;)

Thank you so so much! That was an incredible fourth stage, everything felt fresh and renewed. Only gripe is the ending felt a little anticlimactic, but the boss fight itself was amazingly well done. What made you come back to the game years later, by the way? I really, REALLY didn't expect this.

Going to the ceiling part again, I had no issues getting past it this time. It looks like it has something to do with a bug I've been encountering in several games for a while now (I suspect hardware issues).

Usually it only seems to affect the music, which starts playing a lot faster than intended, and well, theoretically since 140 seems to sync things up with the music quite a bit, the flipping things were cycling at a quicker pace as well, which would explain my issues with it.

I'll see if I can check a look into it a bit more deeply at some point.

Short version: We quit our jobs to develop a new game, and we felt an urge to revisit our first collaboration which is 140.

Vat Te Fak: Any information you can provide on that issue would be helpful. Please send us an email if you want to help out. Are you able to record a video maybe?

Thank you thank you thank you for making another level and releasing the soundtrack at long last (even though it's $5)!! I'm so glad you came up with new ideas and put them into this game (which is one of my absolute favorites, by the way). Thank you so much!!

Yup, already got a video of it! The boss gets pretty funny when my thing is shooting several times within a second (though pretty much unbeatable... heh).

I'll get to you via e-mail.

As a sidey-note should anyone else stumble upon a similar issue: if I remember right, this only happens when I'm using the Linux Loopback device (not using it isn't trouble free with some applications either, but I digress). I do believe I used to be able to use it just fine, which is why I suspect my hardware (probably the motherboard) is the cause.
