You stated it only started to happen recently, and has worked without issue before that. Did you change anything on your PC between that time at all? Such as hardware or software, or maybe any updates?
I'd definitely recommend taking a look into this PC technical support article [www.ubisoft.com] as it generally helps a lot with technical and crashing issues for lots of people, so please give the steps inside a try.
Additionally, I would recommend giving compatibility mode [www.ubisoft.com] a go, and also, please make sure that your game, and both launchers are installed on the same an internal, preferably C, hard drive.
