D3Doverider is no longer supported or updated, you can still find it bundled with Rivatuner, however Rivatuner can conflict with some game's anti cheat software, these days i'd recomend getting either Nvidia Inspector or Radeon Pro, they both have features that can force triple buffering and vsync on a driver level+^_^+ as well as more AA options and driver based AO +^_^+ (Radeon Pro also has the ability to inject SweetFX into 64 bit games, and it's SweetFX feature will work on Nvidia GPUs too)

I'm fairly certain the triple buffering enabled by Inspector (which is through the driver, of course) only applies to Open GL applications. D3DOverrider is needed for Direct X apps.

I don't understand what's going on here?

I installed this D3Doverrider thing, and it did nothing. I was getting minor, minor stutter before the install, and I'm still getting it afterwards.

Here's what I don't understand. Some people are saying that this game displays either at 60 or at 30 FPS.

Then why has MSI's frame counter been saying that I'm constantly in the mid-50's when I'm in a busy town? Sometimes the counter will drop below 50, into the high 40's, but almost never does it go below.

I've never seen my frames go from 60 right down to 30. So what's the deal?

yeah, your right Uncle Dude, Inspector is for OGL only right now, it seems M$ won't let Nvidia have TB cause, well, M$, damn shame d3doverider is no longer updated, i'm hearing about more and more issues with d3doverider in win 8 enviroments and compatability issues, i fear that the next iteration of Windows may make it it outright obsolete. however, further reading suggests Radeon Pro can force Triple Buffering and vsync in d3d games for Nvidia cards as well, you just can't use AMD specific features with Radeon Pro

EDIT: @mickster, try running both d3doverider and Black Flag in vista sp2 compatability mode

Then why is there a profile for AC4 in Nvidia Inspector which has settings you can change?

Skullpuck - It's a generic option - every profile has it. Don't take my word for it - this info is readily available.

Chik'Tikka - Now that you mention it, I think the guys having trouble with it on my hardware forum are all on Windows 8.1. I'm on Windows 7.
