Why is everyone praising this game for good optimization?
Hear me out, this game was designed for PS4 and even base PS4 runs this game better at higher fidelity as compared to GTX 1650 ti which is more powerful than base ps4. I have an RTX 40 series gpu so I don't have any issue playing this game but I feel like the game could have been better optimised when keeping in mind this game was designed for ps4. Am i being too harsh given the fact that nixxes did a pretty good job already?

that means nothing as the ps4 uses a unified hardware configuration which gives a considerable advantage optimization-wise

comparing your gpu and the ps4 is pointless

Too harsh, probably not but honestly it could have been far far worse
I'm on a 7800X3D, 7900 XTX & 32GB RAM so i wouldn't expect to run into issues.

But i'll see it this way; these days it's apparently rare to get a game that runs on maxxed settings with 70-90 fps @ 3440x1440 & 4K without up-scaling enabled, let alone on lower-end hardware with lowered settings.

Take the last few years with games that needed months or years of work to run decently or are actively being worked on: Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk 2077, Dragon's Dogma 2, Jedi Survivor, TLOU Part 1, Forza Motorsport and Cities Skylines 2 to name some of the bad examples of PC launches, that either relied on upscaling to get certain performance or were just launched in a badly optimized/broken state.

Could have been better sure, but at least it isn't a garbage launch. ^^

i mean in all honesty there is still some issues when it comes to shaders on the steam deck and such. i find some issues on my build 11700k, 3080ti 32gb ram... i run everything at 4k maxish i get a pretty stable 60-90 fps. there are areas of the game where it dips here and there and i have noticed some small issues around the map but overall they did a much better job then when zero dawn came out. im sure with a little time they will bring the game up to a really good standard. but for day one/first small patch it came out with some really decent performance i think compared to a lot of ports now a days.

Because the Game runs fine? Sure it has DLSS for the ones that can utilize it, but far too many Developers use it as a crutch for their terrible Game Performance.

because it's newly released port. It's not uncommon for ports to be rougher on release. Jedi Survivor for example has been out for a year and it's still in miserable shape. At least I can play this game without worrying about insane frame drops in the middle of battles, with most of the frame drops coming from cutscenes.

RTX 4070 with a Ryzen 5700X (so something decent but not crazy) and game runs perfectly well on my end. 20 hours in, no crash, no CTD, nothing.

I know some people have issues and it's always like that with PC ports sadly but it's far from being Dragon Dogma 2 level, not to mention other notorious examples...

As others have said, optimisation on PC is always tricky. Give the devs some time to fix the issues (even though on my end it's all good, with the exception of Reflex being silly).

Game isn't broken, not for most people at least.

I heard / read somewhere that the port does not include the PS4 assets. So it can at minimum scale down to PS5 level, maybe with a bit of extra headroom in terms of textures, which are easier to downscale that assets I guess.

They could decide to offer PS4 assets as an optional download at a later date to make the game accessible to even lower tier hardware.

More like appreciation I guess considering it’s a ported game it did run pretty good compared to The Last Of Us Remastered PC version but that one is ported by a different developer, a bad porting house production
Nixxes did pretty good job on this one

Also like the other said PS4 has an unified system of course it will be more well optimized in the one set of systems compared to Pc where everybody have their own set of systems

Just try to appreciate people rather than complaining especially for something that you can’t even do it by yourself

I can't play 5 mins and the game CRASHES my PC to reboot.

I doubt that that as I have seen some benchmarks on youtube with very low/low settings & the game looks horrendous. The texture then is wirse than a ps3 game. The game starts to look decent from medium settings. I think ps4 graphics is mostly based on medium pc settings.

Not complaining just trying to have a discussion. Bdw I can run this game pretty well from my side.

Because they certainly can't praise the game's stability :) So image quality and optimization are the only remaining aspects of the port.
