MSI afterburner issues.

Hello all. This is the first ever game that I've run that has issues using MSI afterburner. Without it the game runs perfectly fine and has done day one. Well other than the controller somehow messing up the fps and GPU usage but has been fixed with a patch. But when afterbuner is open, I get stuttering and terrible screen tearing. After a google and it took me to Reddit they said to disable GPU power usage monitoring. That doesn't work for me either.
My specs are:
5800x
X570 master
16gb ddr4 @3600mhz
Game installed onto a gen 4 m.2 SSD
rtx 4080
I guess it's not the end of the world because the game is flawless for me, but it would be nice to see all the information.

rtss cause stutter ?

when it's run i have some stutter and off i dont thinks so.... but i cant check it when is off.
it's my first game i have this impressions.

Yes if you didn't update very recently (< 3 days) to the last release 7.3.6 Final.

You know what?
Play the game without all of these completely useless information's and you will enjoy the game instead of being constantly worried about a number increasing / decreasing.

Afterburner is btw useless as the monitor. Use RTSS on its own and you even get the extra bonus of configuring it exactly as you want.
Even Aida is better than Afterburner.

afterburner works fine for me and i use it for undervolt + oc so its staying on :P

Your problem is your solution, ANYTHING that polls hardware for monitoring can cause a stutter and the overlay itself can cause problems too, if the game runs fine without it then run it without

I use msi afterburner just fine. Underclocks my GPU, no stuttering or screen tearing. Why would MSI disable your vsync? something else is going on.

I use Rivatuner for Years and would never let the vital Life signs of my System unattended.

The solution to this problem is simple. All you need to do is add HorizonForbiddenWest.exe to Rivatuner and set the application detection level to none. The afterburner is not the issue, it's RTSS.

Oh thank you. How about when it happens when you alt tab out and back into the game again but without afterbuner? Daughter wanted me to check her email and then screen tearing happens again.
I guess just exit the game and restart is the only option?

Turn VSYNC on
