DualSense vibrations picked up as game sounds and played over screen share
I found this weird bug playing on my DualSense. I was sharing gameplay on Discord and the participants could all hear the rumble as I entered tall grass as high-pitched noise which was very irritating for them.

You can control the amount in the option "Vibration Intensity - Traversal" inside Gamepad options in the menu but obviously then you're lessening your own vibration intensity.

EDIT: This is happening with the controller microphone disabled in windows.

Disable the DualSense's built-in mic and use a proper mic? idk

Yeah, these controllers are silly on Windows.

Out-of-the-box, Windows will consider them an audio headset, and Windows is designed to switch your active recording and playback device to a headset you plugged-in.

What you need to do is go into the Sound Settings in Windows,

Advanced > All sound devices > Input devices

Select the "wireless controller" and select "Don't Allow"

Now Windows will no longer auto-switch your microphone to the one built-in to the DualSense. The mute button on the controller itself is useless on Windows :) The actual PlayStation console processes that, Windows doesn't know anything about it.

I'm also had this issue, I don't see the sound settings in my windows for my controller, but i found a solution, I have to used DS4windows on my PS5 dualsense controller, hit edit on my controller, go to the others tab, and on the section where it says "dualsense specific rumble settings", make sure it selected to disabled and the perchantage low.

I finally found a solution for Windows 11. Disable the DualSense Edge under the recording tab in the Windows sound setting. To get there Win Key + "I" >> System >> Sound >> More sound setting (bottom of page) >> Recording tab >> Right-click DualSense Edge >> Disable DualSense Edge headset.

So I found a solution that I had.

I only can hear through one ear on my headset lol so I made my sound mono to be aware ingame on Fortnite.

Its vibrating when you have your sound set to mono. Just change mono to off in your settings

Edit: I also use Wireless Controller as my default output

Yeah, don't set things to mono.

DualSense controllers are basically 4-channel audio devices.
The first 2 channels play on the internal speakers / attached headset.

The remaining 2 channels are used for haptics.

Setting audio to mono is going to send the same audio to all 4 channels (including the 2 surround channels that aren't actually speakers).
