3. https://steamcommunity.com/app/2420110/discussions/0/4292566217060888151/?tscn=1711100901 On this post there is a suggested workaround by making the executable file run in Winfows 8 compability mode.
4. I Experience this on an AMD RX 6600. But theres reports of this happening with GeForce RTX 4070 TI So it seems be unrelated to AMD or Nvidia.

EDIT: Win8 compability mode does not fix crashes.
I've had these same crashes, and the new patch didn't fix them. Here's what I tried: not too much data yet, but it's a start. I was getting the crashes on my game PC: Intel i9-14900KF, 32GB ddr5 mem, MSI z690 carbon wifi MB, Asus ROG Strix OC 4090, Windows 11 INSIDER PREVIEW DEV Channel. I created a new volume on my boot ssd and installed the current version of Win 11. Then installed Firefox, Steam, and Nvidia latest drivers, NOTHING ELSE.
The game now works fine!!! so it's something about my game computer software: not sure what yet, but will try to test more and provide any info I find.

Just wanted to chime in, because this was my case, only I was using Windows Insider Preview (Canary Channel). I broke down and rebuilt from scratch (and DIDN'T join Windows Insider), and haven't had any crashes at all. I have a feeling a lot of people running into this problem are probably on Windows Insider Preview. None of the workarounds fix it, it's probably something wrong with DirectX in the build that will eventually get fixed.

Not that I blame the devs here at all... I knew what I was getting into running Windows Insider Preview, haha. Wasn't my first rodeo with it.

1. Noticing some Bristlebacks that aren't fighting back, I think they're suppose to trigger something that never happened. Playing on Ultra, one was finding Erend and the other was the fire one that's supposed to come in at the quarry.

While playing, randomly, but in particular almost every time i respawn or reload an area, my fps drop significantly. I can go from 90 to 45, sometimes 25 fps (in places where i can easily reach 90 fps in normal time), and this will stay permanently as long as I'm not returning to the title screen or restarting the game entirely . After that, perfect frame rate, at least until i die and need to restart again (btw i'm in ultra hardcore mode so i keep on dying).

This is a terrible bug that needs to be fixed, please do something ! I know i'm not the only one in that case, at least I have a friend experiencing the same thing.

1. Minor Flickering with all fog.
1. Distant LOD for Machine eyes is a blue square (in-game and in cut-scenes). LOD in general seems sporadic - either low quality or pop-in.

How's the Epic Game Store version of the game?

One thing I have noticed is that the new Nvidia App does not detect Horizon Forbidden West as being installed. All of my other games are detected. Is this a DRM issue causing the "0x887A0006: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG" driver crash?

1. Game crashes into BSOD (GSOD in my case as I'm on Win 11 Insider b. 26090.112) upon quitting the game via the Quit option from the menu. Happens with 100% reproducibility. The stop code says "storage stack fatal error", googling it, looks to be related to Windows Storage Spaces which I am not using.
4. Ryzen 7 2700, RTX 2070, 32 GB DDR4, Win 11 Insider 26090.112

1. Game doesn't load new areas and/or characters efficiently at times. Frame rate tanks when this happens. I go from 90fps down to 25fps. When panning camera away from newly rendered area or characters brings frame rate back but only to about 50fps and then it will stabilize there over time.

2. n/a

3. I find myself restarting my game every 45 min or so to get my initial 90fps back.

4. Ryzen 5600x, rtx-3070, 32GB Ram, gen 4 NVME SSD 1TB, Windows 11

HDR only works on some settings in the menu. Updated to latest version but it doesn't help.
Moving the top bar to other settings dims the screen a lot.

How's the Epic Game Store version of the game?
Aside from Nixxes forgetting to enable achievements when it launched, it's been problem free. The Epic overlay may cause problems with DLSS Frame Generation enabled, but I don't use FG because it's not usable in this game without UI artifacts.

Wait for a sale, the game is beyond broken for me. I have ryzen 9/12 core,rx6900, 32gb ram, 4tb ssd. The game crashes either on the shader loading screen or during gameplay. It literally crashes my PC, to the point where I have to hold down the power button to reboot. Shame on these savage devs, releasing a game at full price, knowing the game is buggy on multiple platforms.
