when you look at sun, HDR should do it's job, in this game, the sun is 300 nits if so,
native HDR is broken, better to use the RTX HDR
Max Lum 1050
Paper White 750
Shadow Boost 7
no you should disable HDR in game, disable auto HDR in windows, enable RTX HDR
Thanks I seen a tutorial leaving auto hdr enable but it seems to look with settings you recommend.
The filter is added, but it always says "effect will turn on after game restart" but the sliders are always greyed out.
Tried it in different games and it's the same.
win 11, 4090, latest drivers, latest nvidia app, auto hdr off

But there is a work around using: https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/781
It just needs to be hand configured to work right for now.
There are better solutions using ReShade or ... Special K (full disclosure, I wrote it and am not trying to self-promote). The ReShade solution's more complicated to setup, but seems popular.
Nonetheless, native HDR is fixed now with a patch you can either apply using Special K's latest experimental installer ( https://sk-data.special-k.info/repository/SpecialK_24.3.23.exe ), or from nexusmods (if you have an account) or HDR Den's Discord server.
Even with the native HDR working, you're going to want ReShade to fix the game's HDR black floor. Frankly, just get on Discord and join HDR Den :P All the details are there.

Using mods instead of an official Nvidia feature?
No thanks.
