I have no problems with HDR in this game.
Playing in Win11, Auto HDR ON, display calibrated to 1000 NIT in Windows HDR Calibration tool (Samsung G8 OLED)
I do wish they'd have a proper test pattern for calibrating HDR though, with the adjust until you can't see, adjust until barely visible type prompts.

I have no problems with playing in DLDSR 2.25x mode + HDR on my display, using DLSS Quality (have tryed DLAA too)
Not having problem? Sure.
Special K has a fix for it in our latest Discord version ( https://sk-data.special-k.info/repository/SpecialK_24.3.23.3.exe ), there's also a Nexus Mods mod if you have an account to download it.
Be aware that even with the fix applied, the calibration screen is useless. Only paper white will affect that image.
So to calibrate this game, just take the number you know is your display's peak luminance, subtract 10% (because game is full of bright white clouds and that affects ABL) and for the same reason add 10% to the Paper White value you'd typically use so that you can see the game's UI overtop clouds.
For my Alienware OLED that works out to 930 nits peak, 340 nits paperwhite.
But you need either the nexusmods fix or Special K first
