The "gay" trait and what you guys think.

So, I just got home from work, and I think my previous post got deleted. I can only assume that people were being offensive, but that is no reason to block discussion about this element of the game. I found this great article about the gay trait in this game:

What do you guys think? (PLEASE KEEP THIS CIVIL) Personally, it's like... after some thought, I get it. It's such a backwards way of making a statement, that it's right. x3 Just not sure if it's the wisest approach at making the statement.

The trait doesn't do anything other than make me wonder why it is bad to be heterosexual in Western society. Its almost like if you want to be looked upon favorably by the media these days all you have to do is say you are gay. There is nothing wrong with being straight. Stop attacking the straight way of life.

do you want to know why some people are being vehemently opposed to gay rights? iIt is because they feel like being straight is under attack by the media, just like religions is under attack by the media.

If anything the devs should add a "straight" trait into the game if they want to represent all hardships related to orientation. It would be the Equal thing to do. If the goal of gay Rights is to have all of the same things straight couples apparently have, including the right to divorce and stuff. Shouldn't straight people have the right to be recognized in a video game?

I find the gay trait funny. Had to laugh when I saw this. Hope there is a lesbian one too :D

The only straight way of life is having sexual relations with the opposite sex and the only ♥♥♥♥ way of life is having sexual relations with the same gender that is where the differences end. :) k

I think by putting gay, but making them have male/female look is kinda weird..if anything you call them transgender not GAY. I have a friend who dresses however SHE pleases and shes a lesbian. She dresses more female like dresses etc. Not the opposite of her claimed gender. If they really want the "gay" symbolism trait make the character have rainbow hair or a small multicolored rainbow like fabric on his or her waist.

It would have been more funny if there was a special trait called "Straight". But as the traits are generally genetic disorders or other negative disabilities, having one called "Gay" is a bit offensive and if it is to try and make light of the situation, I think it failed to hit the mark.

I don't even care about it. It should be a non-issue and involve no thought whatsoever to be honest - gay or otherwise I'll be slashing ♥♥♥♥ with my sword.

Simple fact is this: no other game really does the gay thing, it's a ballsy thing to do to include it. Sure there's a few gay characters in videogames, and there's that one GTA game about a gay dude, but for the most part that's overshadowed by the gameplay.

In other words, I just think the devs were being ballsy. Maybe they know a gay guy, or one of the devs is gay, and just thought "hey, lets toss it in there". Who knows. Who cares.
