London Underground
I was wondering if there are any mods for Train Simulator that has added any of the London Underground lines. The line I was mainly wondering about was the Northern Line.

I have seen the District Line been done and I am fully aware of World of Subways 3:London Underground - Circle Line.

If you have any info about London Underground mods can you please tell me (or maybe even the potential of London Underground DLC)

In case you didn't notice, TS201x engine is not exactly best suited to simulating underground lines, no matter whether in London or anywhere else in the world.

Yes there are. Have a look for the Virtual District Line, and WCMLS V5.

As mentioned there are now 2 underground routes available. It's not the LU but JustTrains have the Frankfurt U-Bahn as well (more of an underground tram train). It is definitely possible to do underground routes but whether there is much enjoyment in darkened tunnels remains to be seen. As a Londoner myself I would be interested to see more of it however.

I've got World of Subways 3 (London) and love driving the old C stock Cirle Line train from Hammersmith and around the Circle to Earls Court or vice-versa. It's an old game now by TML, developers of Fernbus Coach Simulator but it's still fun to play.

The attention to detail is astonishgly good with regards to the stations and realistic announcements and ambient track and station sounds and you can even walk down inside the train and the stations. You can almost smell the days of the old underground before it all got modernsided.

And yet, strangely, practically all promo pictures of U-Bahn Frankfurt are from above ground sections... I wonder why is that...

Besides, there are underground sections in some of the DTG's german routes (as someone pointed out in adjacent thread) and while I like them, I can't say I love them, because they show all the weaknesses and limitations of RW/TS engine, when it comes to underground sections.

Tunnels make running TS201x difficult - this is the way it is and always was and frankly, I am surprised, that someone, who has been around RW/TS for such long time, have missed all the statements from people from RSC and DTG, that full underground routes are simply not suited for Railworks engine.

Yes, other than atmospheric shots the underground sections don't really show off much of the route. I'm not sure if you can free cam in the underground sections either? I'd be interested to know how it was built in the editor.

Frankfurt Ubahn actually looks quite good in the underground sections. The tunnels between the stations are dark, the stations itself are very nice with some atmospheric lighting. Forget DTG's underground sections of Munich and Hamburg. They don't put much love into their routes and that's why these sections are just...ugly.

There is the Midlands V5 Bakerloo Line just released that looks good, see Alan Thomson's Youtube video on this. This will need a few paid DLCs

Well, I am not trying to beat a dead horse, the term "atmospheric" made me chuckle a bit...
and no, for different reasons, I can believe, that Frankfurt looks well even in underground.

Because on those german routes I mentioined all atmospheric effects "leak" into the underground, so you have day/night changes, fog etc. in the tunnels (and this is the same for most DTG's routes, if they contain undeground sections, btw.).

And this is where I am coming from with my scepticism.

Well, I meant atmospheric as in 'it feels beliveable/it behaves similiar to reality'.

Yes, fog is of course still a problem. But there is no rain in the Frankfurt Ubahn tunnels. And the most important thing: Tunnels are pretty dark in the daytime and stations are nicely illuminated. And this means most 'atmospheric' effects aren't visible in the tunnels. It's really not comparable with the DTG tunnels. ;-)
