Demo is AMAZING but the game needs some balance tweaks
I definetly felt like some encounters were unfair/unwinable The concept is SUPER cool! but I do think that the final game needs polish and overall balance tweaks to make the mental grind not so brutal.

Having a Janitor opponent lock three cards so I always bust is pretty frustrating, especially because there was no indication of what was happening.
I found a similar situation where the teacher locked her and my hand so every turn we were at a draw.
i think its all randomly generated, just part of the fun of a rogue like.

I agree in regards to some of the infinite but if we could lessen them while giving players more agency (especially over the power chips at the beginning) it would be amazing!

vampire gets unbeatable if you you dont burn him down quick (as all his cards end up low value so blackjacking/21 is easy) BUT hes super hard to burn down due to healing unless you get lucky.

Wizard is also crazy. Stands on 20 with a deck full of 1s and a memory card. Fight takes incredibly long unless he draws super unluckily.

Being able to take cards from you opponent is OP and unfun. If you don't have a counter you just end up playing against your own deck which just feels bad. If you do have a counter it just becomes a matter of fighting for your cards back which is also unfun. Stop playing with my cards! They're mine! I've ended runs because a match has become a total war of attrition and would take way too long to resolve.

My strategy in my first run often involved giving large cards to my opponent. The Wizard you just have to deal with fast.

I would say that ballancing would the game actually worse. As i see it, this game is not multiplayer which is why it does not need thorough ballancing, as it would take fun out of randomness. Which also is in the name. It is not gambling if there is no randomnes. And it isn't fun if it is not gambling

I disagree. You just need to build a versatile deck. I found the game does not reward trying to stick to one or even a couple cards/mechanics. It's also a roguelike/lite, there's going to be some terrible runs, there are going to be some god-tier ones, and plenty in between.

yeah agree.. like most things its learning the deck options. balatro is way more trolly than this (its the obvious comparison)
