Is there only one map?

Hi, I'm at the 20 hour mark, and am now starting to do side-quests, just trying to slow this game down.

(At about the ten hour mark, I suddenly realized that I was playing what I now consider to be the single best game I've played in over two years. No joke. The previous game that knocked my socks off was Dark Souls.)

I'm wondering if the slums - is that what the area around the Tower is called? - is the only map in the game, or do we travel somewhere else?

Could somebody answer this without spoiling me too much. LOL! Thanks.

There is a second area. I haven't got there yet either (20 hour mark also)

the second area is more like a freeruning playground higher buildings more jumping from building to building and its sooo much fun with the grapple hook

Is the second area like a Far Cry second area?

As in, the second area takes place in the second act of the game. Just as big. Just as long?

yes 2 maps in total, i wish the DLC would have a HUGE bonus map or something....if it did, i would definitely buy it...but im not getting the basic dlc

yea the second area only has like 7 safe houses and not all that much smaller but its alot quicker to get round as most building lead to another. Its also more like a city center more desly packed then the first area

Oh god... that's wonderful to hear.

This game is utterly transporting. I'm shocked because I had no expectations whatsoever for this game - yet I'm having an 'experience' with it.

Right now, I just don't want this to end.

Did any of you guys play Dead Island Riptide? God it sucked. I can't believe that this game was made by the same guys.

I got cought out in the the game also schumy My payday isnt till the 5th and i was totally on the fence about the game.

Yeah it was a bit average. Too much more of the same... but I guess that is to be expected when a DLC turns into a standalone game lol.

i felt riptide was more of a cashin game then either dead island or dying lgiht as dead island was quite a success for techland also

Can you travel back and forth between maps or does it stay in the second till you win?

you need to finsh the game before fast travel is enabled to get to the second part you need to go though a fun sewer part and die alot :)
