This is a triple-A title all the way.
Yes!
That's exactly what I was thinking. There's a real METRO feeling about this game. Absolutely.
In fact I think this is the best zombie game I've played in a while and a very well done open world game.
I have some nitpicks and the performance should be better but I am really enjoying this game.
So much better than Dead Island.
I like how challenging it is and the added climbing/parkour is great. It's also one of the few games I've played were the side missions are actually interesting and relevent.
The crafting and skills are also well implemented. Which is something I don't think is usualy done well in games like this.
I'd prefer a true 24-hour clock instead of the artificial construct we have in-game at present. Hopefully PC mods will come to rescue there, and again with gun mods (why is it that only in a zombie apocalypse is the world suddenly devoid of guns?)
7 hours in, and the game is definitely shaping up to be a genre favourite for me. Gotta love killing zombies.
Yes, the Tower is like one of the hubs in Metro. Just superb.
Yes, a lot of things are coming together... the parkour, the atmosphere, the melee combat, the challenge of surviving the night, the crafting... it's all just working.
The more I play, the more I'm starting to realize how good this game is. I was hoping for an average game, but right now Dying Light is surpassing my hopes by quite a margin.
I've completely forgotten about GTA V for the time being. And, honestly, every other game in my Steam library.
It's rare for a game to capture me like this. It really is.
