[Temporarily Solved] Dying light Fps drops and Stutters??
so 3 days ago dying light the following/enhanced edition was released which updated the graphics, and ever since then i have been getting terrible stutters and fps drops and even once in a while my screen will just freeze for 2 or 3 seconds and go back to normal. this never happened before the update and even when i disable full screen and vsync or lower my graphics settings i get the same thing. everything on my computer is up to date so there shouldnt be an issue... i was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue - running amd fx 6300 msi r9 380 msi 970 gaming motherboard 16 gb of ram and windows 10

EDIT: So I found a few possible fixes,
1- i lowered myview distance all the way down and it seems to have fixed it
2- disabling and enable full screen on start up of the game seems to fix lag and micro stutters
3- disabling Nvidia based graphical settings

Same ♥♥♥♥ here! Few month ago when i last played it was silk smooth 60 fps, even despite i have not quite fresh GTX 680 OC 4gb and 3.6 ghz core i7 with 16 gb of ram. Everything except for render distance was maxed out, render distance was somewhere in a middle and i turned off DOF because it way too blury and unrealistic to me.Also notticed slower loading, and texture mip lag (ie i can see few seconds low res texture and need to wait until full res loaded, never happened before), seems like they screwed up something in caching and streaming system.

Btw i have WIn 7 x64.

Without touching any game settings i started it after recent patches and it stutters like hell, sometime screen even hangs fore a few seconds, GAME IS SIMPLY UNPLAYABLE NOW!

Please add "enhanced edition" to title of thread so devs could see it better, they really not enhanced game at all, and that horrible things happens despite downgrade of graphics.

Man, its not solved, if you have to lower distance comparing to what you had before it means game performance is screwed.

not a good way to fix it but it worked for me atleast until techland does something about it

The same issue here, I have 4670k 4,2 ghz 8GB ram and R9 290@1100mhz SSDBX100 250GB, before update I played on best quality preset, was smooth 60 fps, after enhanced edition update I have big fps drops, especially at old town map. Only set view distance to 0 helps

Solution - turn off Vsync, and keep Distance at or below 50%. I also recommend turning off Depth of Field and Chromatic Aberration.

But this is strange, when I have fps drop my processor is used in 70-80%, GPU about 75%. When I switch distance to 0% fps drops gone and CPU usage grows to 88% and game is smooth 60 fps.

i noticed when i start the game its very laggy crazy micro stutters and almost unplayable, i turn full screen off and turn full screen back on and it seems to fix it, not sure why but it does.

not to mention turning off nvidia depth of field and theres another nvidia based graphical setting in the game i disabled and it runs alot better

in my case the changing of details strictly graphic does not help. Just this draw distance, before I download Enhaced Edition + Following I played on best quality preset and was 60 fps so what happend with this game?

i would add enhanced edition in title but sadly this still happens even in old town and slums, they may even be worse tbh

well my pc is mostly msi parts including the gpu, so enabling nvidia graphical settings doesnt help performance for me atleast

:/ No chance to fix it? Ehh it looks again we have to wait for a fix , it's been a long time since the launch so we probably will not live to see

Techland won't give a damn about,it is like the few game industries have no interest but at your money and to falsely publish a good advertisement on their bad screwed titles.
Meh I am really dizzy at the moment to correct my reply.

Patch 1.10 improved enemies AI, adds new animations and npc-s models, and much more, maybe all those things rise requirements about CPU and GPU ?
However, they could write about it because it seems that the requirements of the Enhanced Edition are much higher than the basic version

hey guys,
little late, but here's what helped me get constant +100 fps:
btw i got a gtx 1660ti and a i7 9th gen but i had like 8-30 fps in Dying Light which was rediciulous

how i fixed it:
1. CTRL ALT DEL task mgr
2. go to details
3. right click on "DyingLightGame.exe" and set Priority to "High" or "Higher than usual"
4. Change Game Settings to -> Windowed Full Screen mode
5. check your fps, i got 120 fps after priority settings

before you play, check every 1-2 minutes in your task manager if the priority settings is still on High, because sometimes it changes back to "normal"

you can also do this with steam, nvidia gforce experience, etc ...

hope it works for yall aswell
