[Spoilers Ahead] Harris Brecken in Dying Light 2 ?
So, what do y'all think ? Some people says that Brecken past when he tried to leave harran by boat, but we technically don't really know what happened to him.
Even if devs said that Dying Light 2 will not have any character from the first game, I think we can have some hope to see at least Brecken 'cause he is one of the most emblematic character of the game.

Where does Dying Light 2 even take place? It has to continue from one of the three endings to the game.

1) A cure was founded but with so many zombies still left to deal with, and many factions of power have formed.

or one of the Following Endings happened:

2) No cure found, and we activated the nuclear warhead.

3) We escaped, and turned into one of the infected and continued the spread of the virus.

Is Dying Light 2 even taking place in the same region? I got the impression that the virus spread and had engulfed mulitple regions with a breakdown of civil order (reverting to Warlords who controlled regions (i.e. whereever they could).

Its 3. thats the actual real ending. seeing how you crane escaped haran's country side blockade that was stopping the infection. And then you as a volitile infected the outside world. which in turn leads to well yeah the infection of the world. seeing how crane meets people. and well does what a volitile does. infect kill etc. just like the mother wasnt always able to stop her every "natural"action. So yes its number 3.

- Dying Light 2 takes place 15 years after the apocalypse of Harran. It doesn't takes place in the same region, but the virus definitely spread onto multiple others. I'm not sure, but this is what I think, I'll search more informations about it. By contrast, I don't know if it takes place in an another country. (Harran was in Turkey) It doesn't seems so because of the climat.

- Your 3rd 'theory' Jeff, is maybe the more plausible one. I don't think the 2nd one is 'cause the nuclear warhead would have destroyed Harran so the virus too because this is what the government's plan was, eradicate the virus by blowing up the city.
- I don't think the 1st one can be correct because we learned by the hand of Techland and the trailer of Dying Light 2 that the virus is still active. Infected have evolved, that's why most of them will can't bear sun light anymore. During day time, infected will hide in dark places like buildings. During night time, they'll leave their hideout to hunt for some prey. Maybe there'll still be biters infected, we don't really know.

The city of Dying Light 2 is like the last place where humanity can survive, this is where we can find the PCK, Peacekeepers, that can offer protection to survivors. It means that if you join the city, you're more lucky to stay alive. This protection point can bring popularity to the city, so more survivors, so more possibility that Brecken joined it to survive.

Maybe what I think is sh*t, but this is just a theory. I don't really know if you guys see what I mean. Say what you guys have to say, after all, we're all fans of Dying Light if we are here. It'll be a pitty to insult ourselves for explaining our thoughts.

I loved brecken and wish he had more cutscene time but i highly doubt we'd see him. However the amount of references to Harran and Dying light 1 would be immense so i wouldnt be surprised finding reference to him, his runners and rais

I doubt that we would encounter Brecken himself, but I would have to agree with Yesn't>No on this one, it's very likely we will see references. Dying light already has a bunch of references, from dead island, to mario, to the shrine for Romero, the father of zombie movies. It just sort of makes sense that the sequel for a game that already features so many references, would include self-referential moments as well. I wouldn't even be surprised to find leftover posters about Jade and her kick-boxing or something. Rais will probably be mentioed as well, but considering most of the world had censored information about what was happening in Harran, he may be referred to as "Suleiman" again since most of the world wasn't actually aware of his little warlord persona in Harran.
