If you enjoyed Beachhead, the budget PC game and arcade game, you'll find a lot of nostalgia for the Beach Invasion games.

They have a fair bit of jank, but they're both perfectly competent and fun. This one is the better of the two in my opinion. The first one is quite a bit more buggy.

I just bought the Pearl Harbor DLC which I look forward to trying but the base game is definitely worth picking up especially on sale. It is not something you'll find a lot of depth in, it's not something ground breaking, it's just a well executed love letter to a long dead genre of video games. The point defense shooters were only really around in the 90's and early 2000's and in arcades. So this is a niche genre but I always enjoyed it and I always enjoyed WW2 history so these games were even better to me than Beachhead.

We just saw they are planning a WW1 era defense shooter too! I will definitely be interested in that one too.

For what this is, it's good, even well done in a lot of ways. So as long as you know what it is, I recommend it. It is a anachronistic love letter to a genre that I almost never see anymore.
