Is the story progress of PP saved online or offline?

So my Windows is screwed again and I need to reinstall an operating system.
I may even switch to Linux, so I do ask whether Papers Please saves the Progress in the story mode online or in the game files. If it's saved offline, is there any way to transfer these files to my new Papers Please install?

i usually j ust copy the whole folder across. PP is not saved online AFAIK.

It is saved online so long as you have the cloud save settings enabled (which is the default). Cloud save settings are in the general tab of the steam settings for the game at the bottom. (If you cant find this: Right click on PP in steam library, select settings, general tab, bottom of page.) Like i said thats the default so your saves are probably safe.

Seems it can be either. I tried it on a second computer after getting to day 21 on my main computer and it didn't sync. But then when I played for a bit on the new computer, it synced back and bugged out so I was up to the day from the second run but every day was actually the first day.
