If there's going to be another game, I'd like to see much more lore and backstory. You're barely told anything about anything in this game.

What's there to say? How about some backstory on Arstotzka? How'd it get to this point? Why did they go with the lottery system for public employees?

I would prefer a game focused on the backstory on Artsozka, not with the same mechanics of Papers, please but with similar graphics. That wouldn't be a second part, it would be a spin-off or something like that, but I think it could be interesting. (I don't think this will happen)

Hi !

Indeed, Artsozka has so much stories to tell us...

Finger crossed.

On Lucas Pope's website you can find other (smaller) games that take place in the Papers, please!-universe. In Republia Times you are editor of a newspaper in Republia manipulating the masses.

There are currently no plans to make a sequel to Papers, Please. The developer, Lucas Pope is busy working on a completely new game called "Return of the Obra Dinn". It's going to be a 3D first-person mystery set in 1802. You can see what he's done so far here: http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=40832.0

That said, I wouldn't mind seeing a return to the world of Arstotzka at some point in the distant future. There's so much potential for this dystopian setting...

If you enjoyed Papers, Please, you might be interested in Lucas Pope's latest game, Unsolicited. This small title was created in 48 hours for Ludum Dare 33 - 'You Are The Monster'. While it has no direct relationship with the Papers, please universe, you'll find a lot of similarities between the gameplay, graphics, and themes.

Blurb: "MAKE THE ACME FORM-LETTER COMPANY STAND OUT AS
THE PREMIER FORM-LETTER MAILING SERVICE ON EARTH."

Like a few others have said I think that another game should still be located in Arstotzka, but be focused on another aspect. This aspect could be something along the lines of postage, grocery or bank work.
