Papers, Please

I feel so bad!
This guy came through the checkpoint on, think it was the 3rd day... and his papers all checked out, so I cleared him. He then said his wife was right behind him and a woman came to the booth next. But she didn't have a permit so I denied her entry.

I can't help but feel conflicted because A. she was apparently this guy's wife, and B. they were apparently immigrating and she said she would be killed if she was sent back to where they came from. But on the other hand, I have no way of knowing if what she said is true. It's nothing personal and I was doing my job. I'm the first line of defense against domestic threats to my country and can't let every sob story that is told to me sway my judgement. Plus, I surely would've been fined which would've meant less money to support my family.

Those hard choices, yo. :c

Well, you only get fined after the third citation, I believe. So if you had messed up less than 2 times before, I don't think it would've mattered much.

Dont worry, you are wearing a uniform now, so no need to question your own behaviour anymore. Just follow millions of other uniform-wearing-i-just-do-my-job-guys out there.

If you help them both you get one of the rare tokens
You have a family to worry about you shouldn't be playing fast and lose with your family's welfare. Its hard to provide for your family as a meager inspector

I couldn't bring myself to leave her behind, so I let her through.

My only conflict with that scenario was that I couldn't detain her and her husband for being the terrorists they obviously were. Glory to Arstotzka!!!

That's so sad haha. I haven't gotten to that part yet.
