Am I the only one who has this problem? I have no in game sound what so ever. My sound works fine just not in game. I have gone through the settings and could not find anything that fixes it.

POE has, in the past, had known issues with Creative Labs sound cards. Do you perhaps have a dedicated sound card?

There is an option that can be used on the shortcut (I'm not sure if it will work on the steam target). Here's the commandline option that switches to software sound:

-swa

Did they change it from --softwareaudio ?

Yeah that doesnt work with the steam shortcut

Are you using it on a desktop shortcut that points to the game, or did you right-click PoE and add it to the launch options?

I have a potentially related issue. My sound only comes through motherboard sound, ignoring the mainsoundcard and the headphones plugged into it.

Doesn't look like there's a way to force the game to a specific card. What happens if you disable the on-board?

i changed the output from DDLIVE to DDTS worked for me. Im using a sbZ. I would suggest changing the sample rate in the sound properties.

It does work in the command options. It worked to get rid of the sound errors for my comp, but not sure if it'll fix the nosound issue.

1. Right click the game in your library

2. Click on properties

3. In the general tab click "set launch options"

4. Add the --softwareaudio command in there

5. ???

6. Profit!

Could you get me a step-by-step on that?

1. right click the speaker icon in the taskbar and click playback devices
2.left click "speakers" or whatever you use and click configure to make sure your speakers are set right.
3 go back to step 1 and click properties and go to advanced, click the drop down bar to change the bit rate (try a lower one). (im using 24bit 48000hz)
see if it works.

otherwise look at the software configurator that came with your sound card. mine had a soundblaster control panel and i set the output there. ( i chose dddts in the panel instead of ddlive its in the cinematic setup)

if you have a soundcard and software audio they are all listed in the playback devices pane, so you can choose which sound device you want to use. Personally i turn off onboard audio and dont use the nvidia one so i only have my sbz in the playback devices, but it doesnt matter just choose the one you want to use and configure it.
hope it helps

Like many others who have reported this problem, I too am having this issue and using a creative soundblaster soundcard.

Was really looking forward to this game, but I refuse to use onboard sound when I have spent out the cash for a dedicated soundcard and on top of that, with the success this game has seen, they should have patched this issue by now. I also refuse to lower my sound quaility or mess around with regedits and workarounds just to get it too work.

Devs, you need to debug this issue please, I wonder how many other people have tried this game only to uninstall it due to sound issues and havent bothered to report it.
