I was like you once, I had massive stress due to responsiblities from having to work for a living and stupidly swallowing the hollywood notion that one needs a wife and kids to be truely happy. . .
"having a life" just equals having stress, I mean it is pretty clear from your whine about how you dont have time to do the things you enjoy the stress you feel in your life.
. . .I'll just keep eating steak and doing whatever tickles my fancy without a care in the world on your tax dollars, but you go on and keep living the dream that is the nightmare of your life.
A growth of hair on a man's neck, especially when regarded as indicative of poor grooming.
A man who is socially inept and physically unappealing, especially one who has an obsessive interest in computing.
That guy probably meets both of those.
Otherwise your statement makes no sense.
PoE is the only game besides D2 where you can actually play as a summoner.
I will give it a shot looks like its cheaper to be geared in temp so less playtime required.
Somewhat sorry to you and everyone else who lost their 40-50 Ex on legacy mjolnirs, too, but the way I see it, if you didn't use such a crushing build to make that hammer pay for itself -- and then some! -- then that's your fault.
Speaking as someone who likes to play in pub parties, and has never run a CoC build myself: I personally never really felt the "payoff" of partying w/ such a powerful build, vs. having to suffer the constant visual distraction and performance issues it caused. Generally, while I usually didn't prohibit them from joining, I wasn't sorry to see CoC ppl leave my party. Or, I would just wind up leaving myself.
Overall, OP was just another predictable whine post, and as such it has the same flavor as those "why did you ban me? I swear I'm not a cheater" and "plz revive my hardcore guy; I swear I did everything so, so right" posts that ppl love to read, analyze forensically, and eventually mock. Sry. :|
Anyways as I mentioned I didn't buy the mjolner for the 50 exalts but at the same time i feel sorry for those who did and I was close to doing the same thing.
I have not been playing this game for long either and so I could imagine a lot of new players are eyeing those legacy items unaware of what will likely happen to it.
I still am of the belief legacy items are far and few as they should be, and they provide incentive for permanent league players. And I wish that people who inves these high amount of currency aren't screwed over. It takes a lot of work and effort to buy those items and GGG should take into consideration these things when they make these drastic decisions.
If GGG cannot accept this then they need to not make legacy items in the first place, better care needs to be taken into consideration have a public test client or something and test these items before you put them into the game.
it is not nice to put them into the game then nerf it then change the whole mechanics of the entire class of same items so that you wreck those who spent a lof of orbs for it. Thats just not how you do business, sorry if that offends but if GGG views things this way they need to avoid having OP items in the first place.
I mean for anyone to spend a year saving 50 exalts and then in the morning following day or following week the 50 exalts is now down the drain is something of grave concern if you ask me. And shows poor judgement was put into developing the original item in the first place, this is a game with an economy and real people playing, putting in their hours to earn their fair share and GGG must understand this. I am not against them for doing what they have to do I am just pointing out the reality we live in and how people are affected.
But, that's just how it is.
Having dealt in legacy goods in other games' economies ... that's just how it is. Big rewards sometimes involve big risks.
I, and others to a FAR greater extent than me, have put real world $ into this game, and there is also no guarantee the whole game won't be shut down tomorrow. (Seems insanely unlikely, and I am only bringing that up rhetorically, and I wouldn't spend one more cent on the game if I really thought it would happen, but ...)
That, also, is just how it is. :|
As for the comments about OP items etc. Expensive and badass go hand in hand and more games should follow PoE's example, rather than being so damn bland like they are.
The total clueless nub with 50 Ex to blow is a rare bird indeed. (And while I don't have firsthand knowledge of this, I expect that that 50 Ex hammer is supported by some other choice gear as well. Point being: that's not their last 50 Ex in the world.)
Anyone w/ 50 Ex should know what they're getting into. Including that anything can be changed/nerfed at any time.
Speaking as a person who has had at least two fun, powerful-feeling builds nerfed into a repulsive state with no warning: it sucked, it sucks, and it will suck again. But that just comes with the territory.
And just like I hold out hope that those skills/builds will be revisited by GGG again one day so as not to be total trash (one already kinda was, to the extent that it's actually playable again), if it was me who bought the 50 Ex mjolnir, idk if I'd be in such a hurry to sell it. You never know what might come down the pipe in this game and make it valuable again. GGG might even dial back the nerf a bit, directly. Probably not gonna happen any time soon, but, maybe one day.
In any case, doesn't now seem like the absolute worst time to sell one? ...which some ppl are doing. So ... "bad decision after bad decision" is one way to look at that.
My final point, I'll borrow a bit from D3 history: for a long time (far too long), legacy Nat's was the ♥♥♥♥. It had OP mechanics that were unattainable any other way in the game. Then they killed trading, so it became unobtainable, period, if you didn't already have one. Well, at this point, so much has been added/changed in the game, that those are just a distant memory. Zero usefulness, totally eclipsed by what has come since.
Yeah I still have my Legacy Witching Hour belt in D3
Its a perfect roll aswell. LOL a vanilla level 60 but boy is it something 50% crit and 9 attack speed if I remember correct but it was a perfect roll.
I actually bought it on the RMAH back then the prices were going super low because of announcements to shut down the RMAH and I took the opportunity to buy it on the super cheap.
Still have it in my stash its one of my prized posessions. Yeah I am a collector I love having rare stuff that a lot of people won't get their hands on, its part of human nature actually. Pretty much novelty so yeah, well atleast the one good thing about the Mjolner change is I can actually create a rainbow nuke discharge now on scion because it actually procs 100% where as before I needed a legacy mjolner to proc the 50% fo the rainbow color.
Scion still probably a bad class for discharge when compared to juggernaut but you know scion has some other perks that helps. One such perk is wielding mjolner with ease and p utting the rest of points into attack damage so when people say juggernaut is a better class it probably isn't by that much really
