How often do you continue playing your League character after the League ends?

I gather that most people just drop their characters since the economy in Standard is pretty stale, but I plan on to continue playing after league-end, just to see how long-term my build is for my Witch.

I usually _think_ that I might continue my challenge league character, but after the end of a league I'm usually a bit burned out on PoE and have accumulated lots of other games that I'm curious to try. After about a year or so, I'm feeling the itch to play PoE again. At that time, I have forgotten a lot about my previous characters and the items I found, and I'm also curious about the new challenge league mechanic, so starting a new character in the challenge league seems more fun than trying to rebuild and continue the old one.

Might be different this time though, as I feel that my current character hasn't reached his limits yet, I just probably won't have the time to reach some long-term goals before the league ends. So I might continue him to see some of the content that I never reached before. But we'll see. :)

Thanks for sharing, Psyringe. That makes me feel a bit more at ease about transitioning. Definitely will have to purchase more stash tabs though.

After league end, my char and tabs getting dusted in standard. Never touch em again. I always long for fresh start and new contents

I do not, I can only tolerate playing during one. Even then not to the end most times, I stop about a week or so before it ends. I do not even want to mess with sorting the bank out, or just possibly I would use regs for pre league build tests.

Note that you'll effectively double your current stash space after transitioning to Standard league. If you never played Standard, then there are still 4 empty stash tabs in your Standard league, (plus additional empty tabs if you bought stash tabs already, each tab bouht gets added to every league you play). When Legion league ends, you will keep those empty tabs in Standard, and all your tabs from Legion get added to Standard as "remove only" tabs. If you then continue to play in Standard, you'll have an "archive" of tabs with all your items (that you just can't add new items to), plus the unused space that you already have in Standard.

If you _do_ want to buy stash tabs, it might be better to do that before the league ends. I don't know if it still works this way, but previously, when you bought new tabs while having remove-only tabs, the remove-only tabs would be converted to regular tabs - so you didn't actually gain more unused space. Perhaps someone who bought tabs recently can tell whether this is still the case, it might have changed.

I'm a filthy casual so I play mostly standard because if I didn't then I'd just be repeating acts 1-10 over and over again. :)

With all the stuff that's been added to the core game, I have actually really been enjoying not having to start over and there's always something to do that's not just a constant mindless grind which is nice.

Anyone who legit doesn't play standard at all, feel free to donate all your league lootz to me. :P

I have a big list of standard characters that i've never touched after a league ended.
