Master of metal too powerful?

So the situation is this i started as champion then died to some poison crap, i literally oneshotted yellow metamorphs with like ichimonji and scaeva. So i though if champion does this, slayer should be nice too... but no, slayer seems to do less damage with exactly same build and basically same gear. Is master of metal really makes such difference? If so slayer is trash im done.

Slayer has different requirements, Champion uses Impale where as Slayer is about crits and survivability from leeching HP. Different characters need different builds to be good.

impale IS good on slayer aswell + dread banner is excellent survivability. Slayer only gets advantage on crits if you get overwhelm, but 20% culling is good too.

And about survivability overleech is good ofc, but it wont help you against oneshots which champion survives better or glad.

yes overleech doesnt help against oneshots which is why i saw many more champions than slayers this league. I agree with that.

i like slayer, i just dont understand how one node makes such a difference in dps. I tried slayer both with impale and without and with its definetely better, but not match for champion because of one node or at least that what it looks like to me.

That was the whole reason behind picking slayer - to do more damage, otherwise why would i want to take class that has 20k less armor and evasion and million dr with 100% accuracy.

im not complaining i want to figure how to do good damage with slayer, i tried both 2H and dual wield seems kinda the same with my items.
