Game running on SSD or HDD?

Only got an 970 and blight runs fine, even with summoners in party

Same. 970 and I get a little lag once tons of mobs and effects in screen but not to the point where it bogs down my rig.

Something else is affecting it is my guess. And I am on an HDD

Run PoE on and SSD, and dont like really dont, have Shader + Global Illumination on ultra settings.

PoE on SSD with RX5700 and QHD monitor
runs super smooth on ultra settings as summoner

It's running on an SSD i have all on very low settings with dynamic res on
M — K Feb 10, 2020 @ 12:04pm
Oh and dynamic res doesn't even work for me, it has no effect. If it goes to 1 fps slideshow it is just a slideshow in 144p

I had fps drops absolutely everywhere but deleting all of shader cache fixed it, i messed with launch options and so many things i don't even know what fixed it anymore to be really sure.

Question though, why does 64bit PoE start 32bit PoE?
dakin1 Feb 10, 2020 @ 5:28pm
How much RAM are you running? If your RAM is getting used up loading textures your frame rate will tank. I am surprised 32 bit POE still exists. If you are running 32 bit, you are limited to 3 GB of texture memory and the frames will drop every time it has to load something (last I saw the game has north of 13 GB of textures). Maybe look into reinstall and see if only 64 bit client is loaded?

Running a GTX Titan X and 32 GB of DDR4 3000 RAM and can run blighted maps at 1440p resolution without problem.

I have 32gb ram, i have tried all possible things to start 64 bit but it never starts, even if i launch 64bit poe it starts the 32bit application instead, directX version changing in config does nothing

I haven't tested a blighted map yet but general performance went godlike levels when i deleted shader cache
Altaria Feb 10, 2020 @ 9:21pm
I have the performance issue as well with 1070 GTX and 16GB of ram and running on SSD.
solaris32 Feb 11, 2020 @ 6:06am
The issue is your cpu. It's the only explanation I can think of. I too run on a SSD with a gtx 1660 ti, 24gb ram, all settings on lowest, but still get horrible lag on blighted maps. My cpu however is a bit outdated, but not that outdated. POE is just horribly optimized for these things. My cpu is i7-4790 3.60ghz. Well above recommended specs for POE, but as I said the game is poorly optimized. Hopefully the graphics overhaul of POE2 fixes these performance problems, and that's why they aren't bothering with any effort to fix it now.

How do you delete the shader cache?
How do you check if POE is in 32 or 64bit mode?

Locate game files (Rightclick in library->manage->browse local files), select ShaderCacheD3D11 and press shift + delete, accept if prompted to. Select CachedHLSLShaders and repeat.

Execute game, open task manager (ctrl + shift + esc) and check process... 32bit processes have a "*32" appended. See e.g. https://imgur.com/q1PTcr7 - foobar uses 32bit, while steamwebhelper is 64 bit.

Ok I deleted the folders, and POE does run in 64bit for me. Here goes.

The game doesn't run in 64bit for me, it's stuck on 32bit no matter what i do and there's barely any info on how to fix this issue

Edit: Its probably extremely handy for future people with this issue to have a backlog of working solutions here

And what is your cpu? It has bigger impact in poe anyways.
