Molten shell supports
Does iron will support and concentrated effect support still works with molten shell? Couldn't find answer more fresh than from 2013...

As far as MS' dmg goes, it is not affected by modifiers to spell dmg, meaning neither of these will increase its damage. Fire dmg, elemental dmg, aoe and generic damage modifiers will affect it.

UPDATE: I forget, but Conc Effect increases Area damage or Spell damage? If it's Area dmg, it works. If it's Spell dmg, it doesn't.

Also, if you hover over a support gem, it will display a little window off to the side with all your skills you currently can use (socketed, or from equipment). If it has a green check next to it, that means the support gem will affect that skill in some way. Unfortunately sometimes it can be a little difficult to nail down exactly how it effects the skill, though if it has a red x by it, then you know it won't do anything at least.

This is just the thing i had trouble with, i can see -% aoe modifier on skill and green tick when i hover over, but there is no +% aoe dmg modifier on skill

So as far as i understand, area damage increase works with molten shell, meaning i can use concentrated effect support which increases AoE dmg. Thanks :)

You sure that +% spell damage don't effect it? If not than why does it have the spell tag.

Yes, I'm sure. You see, the difference between normal spells and stuff like Molten Shell and Righteous Fire is that normal spells are directly cast on enemies so their dmg is affected by spell dmg.

For Molten Shell and Righteous Fire the spell is cast on you so the dmg of those abilities is not caused by your casting but by the effect that was cast on you.
