Auto Aim With Bows
I have just recently started playing PoE and I have noticed with the ranger class the bow has auto aim. Is there any way to turn this off?

What do you consider "auto aim"?

The bow doesn't shoot to where my mouse is, it shoots to where the enemies are.
Pretty sure the bow doesn't have auto aim unless you have Mirage Archer Support slotted in with the skill. Essentially the support repeats the skill you used which auto targets the nearest enemy. It can be used at the same time as manually firing.

If your skill has a charge mechanic like Scourage Arrow then it will charge it to the max before firing.

The support shows a green hologram of an archer above your character when activated.

aim press shift click profit

shift clicking will attack where your cursor is rather than at an enemy

IT doesn't have auto-aim and it's silly to claim it does.
It physically cannot have auto-aim.
The game's engine doesn't even work that way.

How the hell would it have auto-aim?
Don't bring back dead threads.
there is only a very limited selection of skills that have tracking towards enemies, it is not an inherit function or option you can turn off or on

k cool story dude, but it has blatantly obvious auto aim. When I commented that, I had just started playing the game lol... When you're low level using a bow, it's hard to hit enemies because if you try to lead, the auto aim sticks to them... You have to lead far enough ahead so it doesn't auto aim.

Learn the game you're playing dude, gah damn

Why are you blatantly lying?
That is not how this game is coded ever and you can't claim otherwise.

I have evidence going back to 2013. When this game first had an open beta.

Everyone can tell the game doesn't have Auto-Aim.

I've played the Ranger using bows for nearly 1500 hours. :P
I think I would have noticed if she had auto-aim in the beginning.

Also, Auto aim can only exist in a 3D FPS or something akin to it.

This game is not a FPS, ergo can not have Auto Aim.
So, case closed.

Maybe they are considering "namelocking" to be (or be a form of/part of/...) "auto aim".

I don't recall what that option does.
Namelocking?

Namelocking is the behavior where you use a skill while targeting an enemy and your attacks/skills will target that enemy as long as you hold down the button, even if you move your mouse away.

The name is from the fact that the enemy's name/HP bar will remain displayed at the top of the screen when you do this.

Ah. Okay. I see. I never knew that was a thing.
Sounds like it could be helpful to some.

It's rather situational whether it helps or hinders.
