Though I have to say he feels a bit over the top even for Dynasty Warriors. Not in terms of difficulty but feel. He's throwing energy blades and homing missile diving through the air and flinging shockwaves around in a way that makes him feel more lilke a mythological god than Lu Bu.
He might be slightly too over the top feel wise. He feels way more mystical/mythical/magical than the rest of the characters and level.
As well he doesn't just solo the entire army with you, he does it in seconds. Which is again a feel problem. They just gave him way too much magical AOE offense and your allies die too quickly.
Again, feels less like I'm fighting Lu Bu from the previous games and more like I'm fighting some mythological god.
Nah that's on par for lu bu if you play on harder than easy in any DWs
The camera seems to want to move to a near ground-level, forward-facing, zoomed-in default position as opposed to the slightly-elevated, downward-angled, zoomed-out view of older Musou titles, which makes it really difficult to see what running up right behind you.
The Lock-On mechanic helps alleviate this, except for one little hiccup: LuBu has such an immense range to his strike zone that you often break lock-on simply by retreating to a safe distance before attempting to launch another attack.
These were problems I encountered through the entire demo, but they were definitely exacerbated in the LuBu fight. As long as Omega Force does a bit of poloshing in regards to the engine (and making the QTE battle triggers stand out a bit more... they were definitely a little "muddy" and less attention-grabbing than they could be), I think this could definitely be one of the best Musou games in a long time.
The difficulty with Lu Bu has always been almost exclusively his numbers being big. He wasn't much harder to fight than other officers but his attack and defense were off the charts.
In this game not only did they give him the same overpowered stats but they gave him a ton more moves, alot more ranged and AOE attacks, and the game's base combat also changed to be more difficult as well. I like the new combat and etc. I like the overall difficulty. But he feels magical now instead of Lu Bu as he basically farts lightning.
NO. Pursue Lu Bu.
its how i managed to beat him.
Who said anything about realism? He just didn't fit in with the tone of the rest of the map and officers. Everyone else was superhuman, but nobody else was farting energy waves across half the screen. He doesn't fit in the context of the rest of the game.
Even in some of the sillier characters in earlier games that shot lasers and stuff were confined to the fan users. Lu Bu has magic beyond even the silliest versions of the fan users in earlier entries.
