Is there any reason not to always use the cam?

Seems it's always best to have active so you can quickly toggle night vision.

That and you record events. It is easier to not have it up while being pursued. Other than an initial appearence, there is no recordable events that involve an active chase.

I have it up almost all the time, but being able to remove it is more of a nice touch than a necessary feature. I love its presence though, makes for fantastic screenshots

I'd like to see a real reporter keep up a camera and still have fluid captures while getting chased by whatever..

To me there's no other way to play this game, I keep it on at all times. Record events and nightvision aside, the camera makes the atmosphere even more creepy to me.

I find it even more useful when being chased, I'd like to see where I'm going, especially whilst being chased in the dark. :p I do think though that the camera should bob as you run though. Would be a suitable effect for this game.

One nice thing about the camera being up while running and yoy get caught, the camera goes flying :)

The camera adds more grain and slightly distorts color and outlines, so it can make it marginally harder to discern detail. More noticeably, later in the game, an event occurs that makes the camera slightly less useable. Generally, though, there's no compelling reason not to have it up more or less all the time.

I missed at least one of the notable events already because I didn't have the cam going. It's not so obvious what you should tape vs not.

I wish you could see what you recorded during the game, Ik it can be really long but it would be a cool feature.

Yeah I had it up at pretty much all times as well, I realized there wasn't much point in not doing so.

Turns out i didn't miss that notable event after all, I had a chance to note that big ♥♥♥♥♥♥ when reloading the game. I mostly keep the cam up now.
