How do I change the video card?
The launcher gave me the option to select my dedicated AMD Radeon R7 M260, but everytime I did, it crashed. I HAD to launch the game with the Intel HD integration, but obiously the game doesn't run as smooth as it should. I have a Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM and plenty of space on my HD.

How can I force the launchr to reopen so I can perhaps cross my fingers and wish it will let me select the proper GPU? And while at it, what can I do so it won't crash when I select the proper GPU?

You should go into system > Device manager and disable completely the Integrated graphics. This should stop them from "switching".

OK, the launcher appears again. But now it sets Microsoft Basic Render as default and it crashes whenever I select the AMD card. Getting frustrated now -_- If that's not enough, the computer won't recognize the AMD card anymore...
Hi :)

I have the same problem, did you succeed to fix it ? :)

I probably did and I'm pretty sure it took me quite a while to do so, but it's been a year now :/ Sorry, I don't remember what I did.

It's been way over two years now, so there's no chance I'm remembering :/ Sorry, mate.

Hey, sorry guys. I don't even have the computer I first played this on anymore, so I can't even attempt to reproduce the problem (not like that would do much since I know little to nothing of IT). Since this thread isn't helping anyone and I simply don't remember what I did to fix it (pretty sure I managed to days after I opened this thread, which is why I forgot to update it with a solution), I'll be deleting this.

I'm sorry and I get your frustration, but since I can't help you all with this, the only solution would be to resort to the developers.

Eidos Montreal has a support page on their official website where one of the subjects is "tech support." This is something they should've fixed years ago seeing as how it's a ridiculously common problem, but apparently, never cared. If enough of you message them there or open new threads with the same topic here (from different people, not the same account over and over again), you might be able to get their attention. They might have more success reproducing the problem and fixing it than me, but you guys gotta send them messages or else there's no hope for a workaround or even an official patch.

I'll leave this here for a while so people see this comment, and then I'm deleting the whole thread. Again, sorry that I can't help, but it's been years and it really took me a long time to find a solutin. Just remember to be angry and frustrated at the developers, who didn't fix this since the game's release even though it's a very common issue most owners encounter.

Here's Eidos Montreal's official websites: https://eidosmontreal.com/en/contact
On "subject," select "tech support" and detail the problem. Remember that you can't rely on a sinngle person to report this if you want them to do something.
I don't know what exactly I did to solve the same problem, so I'll just write all steps:
First of all, I tried change graphics adapter to use in regedit going to path HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Eidos/Deus Ex: HRDC/Graphics and changing parameters DX11AdapterId and DX11OutputId from 0 to 1. It didn't help, but this will return launcher, and it will also crushing after you choose different adapter. One of next two steps helped me:
1) go to Panel Control -> System and Security -> Power Options -> Change plan settings -> Change advanced plan settings ; here find Switchable Dynamic Graphics -> Global Settings and turn on Maximize Performance near the Plugged in option (I think it's actually helped)
2) run AMD Radeon Software (right click on desktop, it should be first one), find the game in games option and run DE from there
After that your discrete graphics adapter should be already chosen
Hope it will help
Nice gaming!
