Any Idea on how to beat the game on black deck?
Sometimes i fail on getting past the first small bind.

Black deck has a harder time early, since it has -1 hand (which also cuts into income) and its bonus doesn't actually do anything until you've got 6 jokers (or stencil).

However, if you're failing to beat the first small blind, the problem is that you need to work on your poker hand skills.

You should be able to reliably generate a flush or straight (or other high hand if you're lucky) worth almost, if not over, 300.

To make sure you clear the first boss blind, you really want to pick up a joker, preferably giving +mult, in the first two shops, preferably the first shop. Every deck would like that, as a rule, but black deck especially needs it.

You hope and pray, what a bad deck the black deck is

What would be a very strong start?

Beat SB in 1 hand. Buy a +mult joker from the shop : Raised Fist, Abstract joker, or something like that. Beat BB in 1 hand. Buy an economy joker to compensate the lower income of black deck : Golden joker or To Do List or whatever it is. Then beat the boss blind in 1 hand, buy any scaling joker and things would go well from there.

Of course, it won't go like that too often, it's meant as a generic plan, but still. The first 2 jokers could easily be in a reverse order. Or maybe you find the economy joker a bit later, it does not ruin the run. Or maybe the scaling joker will only show itself at ante 3. The key, for me, is to have a lot of jokers quickly, with one or two being economy jokers to get things rolling. If you can make it to a $20+ bankroll with 5-6 jokers, you're out of the woods. No major blunder and it's a win.

Good luck!

I'm surpised that this card game has so much depht.

i actually found this one to be the easiest to beat, because of the extra joker slot. my main strat in all the decks is just to try and get as many jokers that get better over time (such as runner and bus) as fast as i can, even if that means barely scraping by initially due to skipping blinds for the free joker tags. but i think i also got lucky with a negative joker and a voucher that restored my hands per round.

straights and flushes are often the best unless you get jokers that favor pairs, then full house is best.

At first, it looks like a glorified slot machine. You eventually win one game purely out of luck. You keep playing and you realise you're winning about 30% of your white stake runs. You beat green stake and think, huh, it's really not that hard. You reach purple stake and you think, well, maybe I spoke too soon. 3 runs later, purple stake is beaten. You eventually beat gold stake. You go back to white stake just for fun, you get a 14 win streak. You keep playing and you're now winning half your gold stake runs with any deck, without restarting any run.

The game does have a lot of depth. But it requires some time investment to get beyond the initial bingo game feeling. The more skill you gain, the funnier all the whiny posts about RNG in these forums become. :jimbo:

Usually a Flush or Straight gives over 300 to defeat the first Small Blind in one hand, thats what I discovered

If you make it to about ante 3 with black deck, I'd expect to probably make it to ante 8 (at least on low stakes). It's the first one or two antes where you may have to strain due to not yet having gotten useful jokers.

I beat it by getting the Burglar Joker early on. Removes all your discards but gives you +3 hands. Way easier that way.

Yeah, this deck is the one I found hardest to win with. You absolutely want to do it though, since it gives you the Checkered Deck. You can cheese your way through several of the unlocks with that deck.

High full houses also will work, although it is better to discard to draw to a 4 flush or open ended straight since that gives you more outs (9 for flush, 8 for open ended straight vs 4 for a full house if you already have 2 pair). I tend to shoot for flushes but sometimes get lucky and am dealt a full house right off the bat...

yes it is, it's so frustated for me to beat black deck. I've beaten red, blue, yellow and green and my build is around pair/high card with supernova and half joker. It so hard in lower ante cause basically i need to spam pair/high card first in order to scale with supernova. Tried changing strat to something like full house/flush in lower ante but eventually it's hard to look for the card because the chances are lower than a pair. But will definitely try other person's advice

It's so crazy how a -1 hand can change overall gameplay mechanics

In simplest terms, you have an extra joker slot so you can use that for a money joker to compensate for having 1 less hand (1 less income) each turn. Once you get past that you just need to build a high scoring deck that can win on 1-2 hands instead of 3-4 each blind. Of course it is not that easy since the time spent chasing money is time not spent building scores and that can hurt later.

There isn't one simple strategy to beat this though. Nearly all good play will beat the black deck as long as you keep an eye on income.
