Anyone else just utterly despise Black Deck
You'd think having only 3 hands and discards wouldn't be so bad, but oh my god it sucks so bad. It is just the opposite of fun. Yeah, an extra joker slot is nice, but it DOESN'T feel worth it when runs can end as early as Ante 1 with the slightest mistake.

I understand it's supposed to be a challenge, but shouldn't a challenge be on some level enjoyable?

yup or getting the half all points scored or all cards used before are unusable sitting with 3 cards after discarding 5. every single run game is flawed

The black deck has a very difficult early game which makes it hard to scale. The -1 hand is also -$1 every round as well.

The late game can be very strong if you get good jokers but its a huge struggle to not lose early.
It took some effort to pull off, yes. If i remember correctly this was one of the few i focused a lot on whichever +mult jokers i could get, that would later be replaced with better stuff, and adding red seals, steel editions to cards or spamming tarot/spectral generation etc, planet cards in this deck didn't usually help much as the jokers needed rarely matched during early/mid ante.

At least you get one of the easiest decks to pull off after you win
i usually just get the vouchers that up hands/discards and then i'm golden so. meh.

The thing that kills me is because of the decreased hand size money can be tight, meaning getting valuable upgrades can be a crapshoot.
Black Deck feels like the hardest deck to get a run going with. It's so dependent on getting good hands early to earn more cash, getting good vouchers and good Jokers. Overall I don't think the trade off is super worth it.

It's really not. It either needs a better upside or a less harsh downside.

Black deck is by far the worst deck but I think that's fine. I like the balance of all of the decks and having a bad, yet still balanced deck is fun.

I don't think it's balanced well tbh

Black Deck tends to hinge on slotting an eco joker in that 6th slot, but yeah, by the time you find that eco joker you already need to use that slot to focus on scoring.
I hate it. Takes forever to make use of the deck's sole benefit while losing a hand is crippling.
Black deck was my last gold stake win and I'm never touching it again under any circumstances.
Like every deck, Black Deck really wants but doesn't strictly need one halfway useful scoring joker in ante 1 and wants to pick up econ jokers ASAP. Of the two, the econ joker might be the bigger need really...
Black Deck is my least fav, I'm not a very good player or very wise. I can get up to ante 7 but I'm so under prepared my stencil joker putters out

I feel like it's not a very good deck, because having that many jokers seems like an end-game strat, and honestly other decks are better geared towards getting a ton of strong jokers, and it makes it harder to use jokers that want to use those hands.

Plus you get 1 negative joker and you already got all the benefits of the deck.

I feel like a good balancing act would be giving you a Black Hole to start so you can start with level two decks.
