Knowing how much a hand scores before playing would save on maths
Pretty fun game!

One thing I've noticed is that there are plenty of jokers which, in order to get full use out of them, make you want to play as many hands as possible. Examples would be Ride the Bus, Vagabond, Mail-In Rebate.

So to maximise the number of hands you play, you slow roll, deliberately playing worse hands than you could to score less points.

And I don't have any problem with slow-rolling as a strategy. But often I find myself having to calculate the value of my hands manually using a calculator or the back of an envelope. Sometimes it's not necessary, I can just play X-1 'High Card' hands and finish with a single high scoring hand which sets fire to the UI and beats the target chip total in a single go. But sometimes that's much harder to do, perhaps because I'm not capable of beating the chip total in a single hand, or perhaps because my strategy necessitates playing many hands with a higher score, like with Spare Trousers.

When I choose my hand for the turn, there's no probability involved any more; the final value of the hand, including all joker bonuses, is completely calculable. So it would be really nice if Balatro told me what the hand total was going to be and saved me all this maths.

That removes a key aspect/appeal of the game according to the developer. It probably won't be added.

This doesn't surprise me much... when you consider the painfully slow rate at which you can progress through higher difficulties with each individual deck, which takes way more time than it does to develop strategies to beat them, I imagine that the key aspect of the game that the devs are trying to maintain is 'not having respect for my time'

There is a mod for that.

Looks like a total pain in the ass to install and use.
