Personally I think least favorite on anything but gold stake would be The Water just because of how much of a run killer it can be early.
But on gold stake? Manacle is a secret run assassin if you get him at higher antes. Having a base hand size of 6 and a whopping 2 discards makes getting a consistent 5 card hand absolutely miserable without good luck - much less one that passes on higher ante scaling from stake.
IMO it should be changed to something along the lines of "hands played are treated as though their levels were 2 lower" or something like that, lowering the chip/mult value of the hand in the boss itself but without the lingering effect.
the arm is sometimes bad but you can somewhat play around it but not seeing your cards its really hard to play around that, even tho its sometimes possible to a certain degree
I also got screwed by Manacle once (I'd picked up Spectral Negative Joker, so my hand size was 6, which just suuuucked). It was the boss after I bought it, so I didn't know it was coming, and at that point there was no way I could re-roll.
The Fish almost screwed me once, but I got a lucky Flush (which my jokers were built for) and just barely squeaked that one out (I only had one visible card left). Definitely very frustrating to play against.
The Water has screwed me on multiple occasions, but isn't that bad.
Not like The Mouth or The Needle, both which I fekkin hate.
The Hook ruined me once, when I had the "queens in held cards +13 Mult" and I only had 7 cards to work with and couldn't make pairs worth anything (i.e. wouldn't have scored enough). I think I won, but it was definitely very frustrating.
