Stop talking about Flush, start talking about 5 of a kind
5 of a Kind is the best poker hand. Not Flush Five, even though it has higher base score.

5 of a kind is easy to build with death, strength, and DNA (Grim is also insane to get you started. Early Ouija, or just play Erratic Deck). Its naturally high base score and good planet card scaling makes it easy to win with few hands.

The reason Five of a Kind is the best is that you will stock multiple suits so as long as you didn't pick a face card none of the bosses can debuff your whole hand.

Aces and Tens are the best because of jokers. (If you are lucky. Even Steven is better than Odd Todd so even numbers are better builds.)

Able to use Family is just insane. And it has an easy, yet good back-up hand of 4 of a kind.

Most of my wins have 5 of a kind being my most played hand....

Never got high card to work. Never have I gotten good jokers for it. Most amount of mileage I got out of high card was using it to beat ante 3 before pivoting. Or to land the finishing blow on the final boss as my deck was so busted any hand would be a 50k+ hand.

Retrigger a bunch of iron cards with red seals, plus multiple blueprints and a couple handsize upgrades is an instant e. Playing anything other than high cards is worse then.

Yeah, ok. When was the last time I had 1 blueprint let alone multiple? Saying, just get infinite points build going isn't practical unseeded.

My advice with 5 of a kind is very practical.

I have yet to have a run with DNA that wasn't already winning or already completely flummoxed. I see the combo you mean but typically that means getting a lot of tarot cards which is not always in the "ehem" cards.

5 of a kind being easy to build is...debatable. There's what, 2 tarot cards (out of 22), 1 spectral card (out of 18), and DNA (which is again, 1 rare joker out of many).

What happens when you spend all your money chasing death and strength and fail? Just lose, I guess. Same goes for if your deck that's now 33% aces decides to shuffle em at the bottom.

Grim is insane. Idk I get a five of a kind run every 4 or 5 runs. Or every run with Erratic deck. (most of those are with Aces)

Edit: Also, all decks suffer if all your cards get to the bottom.

One of my most fun runs was with a blueprint, DNA, and some sort of X multi joker (don't recall which). I'd play the first card, get two copies, move the blueprint to copy the X multi and play 5 enhanced queens of clubs getting flush five after flush five.

It was, admittedly, a very easy run once I'd duplicated that card a few times. It didn't scale into endless, unfortunately, but that was my choice of jokers and probably keeping DNA around for too long once over half my deck was one card. I think I only got to ante 10 or 11, but before that, each hand round just got easier as more queens of clubs were added to my deck.

Ultimately, any hand can win the game. You just gotta build around the hand you are dealt...
There actually is one deck which is relatively unharmed by a bad shuffle: High Card. The whole appeal of the build (before endless where you get silly with redsteel) is that you have stacked generic boosts which let you not care about how your deck shuffles that much. (For bosses on high stakes you'll often want glass/mult cards, but you can keep the tarot on hand for that.)

I'm less a fan of Five of a Kind than of building into Full House or Two Pair. It's a lot easier to play Full Houses early, and making your deck better at them is less demanding than X of a Kind, since you can use Strength on multiple cards instead of just the one a rank below your chosen target.
how did you learn so much about the game already? lol

lol my best build on the demo was a high card run that reached endless mode

you can't upgrade 5 of a kind afaik (only ever got it in the demo), so it's really bad.

Well, you know wrong. So wrong it wasn't even right during the demo.

I've already had multiple runs with lvl 10+ five of a kind where I won you get planet x when you make it for the first time....really easy to do with aces since they have high base value and won't run into bosses that will hurt you like face cards.
