Electricity missing in the colony

So i have a power plant and i put my storage unit within the power plant's radious but every time i try to store something it says the storage unit need power. What do i do?

you need to get coal

once you have coal (not charcoal, just regular coal), open up powerplant and click "Add Fuel". That's it :)

1 coal runs powerplant for about 1 ingame hour

The power plant is running but i still cant put stuff in the storage unit, does it have something to do with the 2 glowing squares?

storage unit needs to be withing the glowing squares, otherwise no power

Is there a way to autofeed the power plant or do i have to put in coal every hour? can you assign people to it so they can get coal out of storage?

I'm having the same problem. However it's with the medical beds or whatever they are called. The bed is in the within the radius (practically right next to it), the power plant has coal in it (says 99% power) and the colony menu says that it won't work without power. There are other parts that I can't place because it says it needs power but doesn't register that there is. Am I missing something?

I found out the problem. The parts can't be placed without a higher level shield. The energy problem is a bug with wording.

The problem wasn't with the medical detector like the tip kept saying when I looked at it. It was with the quarantine tent not having power. It listed it as the medical detector for some reason. If the devs could fix that, it would be appreciated.

Similar problem. I got max powerplants but the quarantine tent says that it is not powered...

Could you provide a screenshot of your quarantine tent placement? My initial guess is that you've not placed it in range of a powerplant.

@didisan, if you are sure the tent is in a power plant's range, please share your save link with dropbox.

Due to this coming up before, Would it be possible to make it easier to determine if the units that need power and are being placed at the time, have some kind of indication that they are within range of the power. Rather than just guess work, cause the last time i played the edge of the power range gets a little hard to determine whether you are in range or out.

I'm not overly worried about this personally but thought i would ask on behalf of other players.
