I think they forgot the Coelodonta Rhino Wolfs in the Update

New player, started with the current updated version.
For 3 evenings of play now I have run around, hung around, day time, night time, ALL the areas people say they have previously found Coelodonta Rhino Wolf.
I thought I'd found myself a great game, ticking all the boxes for me - but this is just too disheartening. If the Coelodonta Rhino Wolf does still exist for those who have only started with the current update, it is far too rare to make the game playable.
Back to Fallout until Deus Ex is out I guess - and tell all my mates I recommended the game to that I've changed my mind.
Thoroughly fed up :(
Posting in the tiniest hope someone has something to help other than be patient - 3 nights is patience enough for me :( Started again tonight but giving up. It's too hot to put myself through this aggravation.

Imma, I understand the complication, but you really should just continue on with the game like i recommended. You will eventually run into one, and then you can complete that side-quest. It is not entirely important to iron out at this very moment.

This enemy really is rare, and I agree, possibly TOO rare.. Maybe we'll see an increase in their spawn sometime soon though. All you need to do is mention that you feel there's an issue. There's no need to fret over it :)

if you continue with your other quests you will face one of this , that if you know him , usualy you face one of these big creatures when heading west to forest or north to the ruins , it isn't near your starting area but it might spawn also at start when doing gerdy quests on west side little far , you will see him in grassland for sure

We are going to go back and tweak spawn rates and positions in beta. Right now almost all spawns are random based, so you see them as you go.

I'm always doing this quest normally , the creature is there you just do other quest and you will see him , this quest doesn't have any quest after him and it's not chained , there is also warbird it isn't always spawns , same for giraffe also , I noticed some creatures spawns more when you are advancing on the quests

@zede05 , I don't think you have to tweak spawns , unless if you planning to make hardcore difficulty, but the spawns rate are good enough

I have in the past just gone off and done some mining and collected meat, upgraded gear and tools, build some fortifications and wouldn't you know it that rare animal you were looking for pops right up in front of you when you are passing through the area and oddly enough you now have better weapons to defeat the animal. Like everyone has said just continue on and you'll do fine. Relax and don't sweat the small stuff.

Yeah, I get what everyone is saying, but continuing with missions, going off mining, gathering etc., is all well and good, but after what is now 4 evenings of play, it is only natural to begin to wonder if I'll ever find it.
I guess I am a bit OCD as having that mission in my log for such a long time really irks me lol.
Ah well, all the new missions are taking me off into new areas - maybe I'll get lucky.

I see that dino once in a while so it will spawn generally when you aren't expecting to see it. You really do want a bit better weapons to tackle it so waiting is preferred by me then revivng several times hehehe

I know I will Bird, and I'm more chilled about it now I know 2 things from the replies to my post:
1. the spawns are random so that's why it doesn't spawn in my game at the co-ords people have listed, and
2. it isn't part of a quest chain, so it doesn't matter when it gets completed.
And hey, running around on this stunning planet hoping to bump into it - there are worse ways to spend an evening :)

Now, if I can just get my head around how to build stuff ...........................

I find them more around dusk and night, but maybe its just the eyes that makes it easiest to see them, not really sure.

You can also set it in your missions list to do later to, so it doesn't pop up on the screen, or clear it and do it later, though if you do that do it before you do your colony, don't know if it will come up again after that.

Just glad they have it so if you fast travel and it clears a mission or 2 you can go back and ask about it again and get the mission.

Love the story line, can't wait to do adventure mode. These are some of the things i really like as they have so many ways to play the game, and a creation system., With a good support system.

I spent quite some time searching the map and forum for the rhinos location. No answers on the forum, until now.

If you have further comments about something, why not create a new discussion and the few of us players, that are still active, can help you out... kinda rude to keep posting on someone's thread who probably doesn't want anything to do with this anymore.
