Not receiving a Red Thread account sign-up verification email?

We heard from a lot of players who never received an account verification email when registering their game account.

We've finally identified the problem: it seems like the massive amount of sign-ups on day one (and two) exceeded our allotted email quota (rookie mistake, but we honestly didn't think we'd exceed it). This means a lot of you never received a response from our servers.

We're fixing this now, and those of you who tried to sign up will most likely be receiving verification within a day or two

We will also bring back the sign-up box (which was designed to only show up once) for those who didn't yet sign up. Dismissing it again will remove it — we don't want to annoy anyone!

Keep in mind that signing in is *completely optional*. This is an added service that will expand over time, but you can safely play without logging in, and your save-games are safe on Steam regardless.

Some of things our account system will provide include:

• Save-game sync — our servers store your progress, to ensure that you never lose it
  
• Cross platform saves — start playing on PC, finish on PlayStation 4 (or any other platform), and easily go back and forth between platforms
  
• Achievements, (free) DLC and other bonuses — we have plans to add more cool stuff to the game, and the account system will help us do so

Of course, many of you have now finished the game and won't return — but there's still value in signing up, since this account system will extend across all of our games, as well as unlock new content in Dreamfall Chapters over time.

We apologise for the email glitch, and we hope you'll try registrering again when the system has been upgraded!

Thanks for the announcement. Just got the game and was wondering what was going on. Maybe a free minor DLC as an apology for the delay? :D

I might be blind, but I don't see an option to create an account in the game? Or do I need to go a website?

I'm on Linux and started the game the first time after updating directly to 5.0.3 (from the previous book four version). The game itself worked fine (besides fdo#96602[bugs.freedesktop.org]), even though it sometimes fails to launch through the "play" button of steam (it just says "aborted" on the console), but launching DFC from a shell always works.

Just a question. What is the difference between saving the game on Steam Cloud or on RTG Cloud?

Does anyone know how we can sign-up or what settings we have to have enabled to register our game account?

I am new to Steam so I am not sure if we have to enable particular settings to receive the RTG sign-up box as it does not appear when I start the game (or where I shoud expect the sign-up box to appear once starting the game?)

Please REMOVE EMAIL adress from main menu and hide it even from settings account page, because THIS CREATES A PRIVACY ISSUE!

I dont want anyone watching my streams or video records to be able to see my e-mail in such an open manner! Please, patch it asap and never do things like that again!

Not yet. They changed some dialogue in Book 1 at the beginning and it hasn't been translated yet.

my game is constantly crashing even since the final cut came out, I've changed my settings in every way possible and nothing helps, I love the game but I can't play it cause it crashes all the time and at random times
