HITMAN™

HITMAN™

データを表示:
HITMAN 1 patch incoming, for maintenance.
We're updating and renewing some back-end server configurations.

There are no changes to content or gameplay. The download size might be larger than you'd expect for such a change, and the reason for it is that the server work included in this patch requires us to include some additional resources. Again, nothing that will be noticeable by players.

Dear developers, when will you add bonus costumes and weapons to the game for killing elusive targets that you can't legally get now?

No, they won't because they expect you to buy Hitman 3 at release if you want that content.

You would have a 3gb temp file during download and install which is then deleted after completion.

Beyond that, you can very easily check the games file size (library, right click the game, properties, local files. It tells you right at the top what disk usage size is.

I've tracked and updated the total file size of this game every update since launch and keep the total listed in here for reference:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1580201161

I know from tracking the update this week and comparing it to the previous total that it went from 149.3 to 149.6gb.

Any issues with your personal hardware are between you and your temp files.
-----------------

And you'll have this issue with every game that ever does updates. Try keeping Payday 2 or Destiny 2 installed, a couple of times a year you'll have downloads for patches anywhere from 30gb to 60gb in size, they will fill up a drive with temp files that size, but the games themselves only grow by a few 100mb while the rest is overwriting old files and replacing them.

Your system would then clear the temp files (eventually) when they are no longer needed. If your system isn't clearing the 3gb temp file that was used to install this patch, that's not something I can help you with. But I can tell you that Hitman 2's on disk file size only increased by right around 300mb. (Also if you had Hitman (2016) installed that also increased by 300mb, so if they are on the same drive you're total for both games is +600mb, a bit over half a gb)

Maybe you just don't own enough games to have noticed this over the years, but I have over 400 installed and deal with daily downloads. The more games you have installed, especially with online components the more download management you'll need to be aware of, but download size of a patch is always just the temp file size for the installer, how much is actually kept after that is highly variable and generally much smaller.
I'm not sure you needed to write such an essay but okay.

Temp files are meant to delete themselves as soon as the game update finishes, I've never seen cases where they remain afterward (it isn't difficult to script certain files to delete themselves after installing).

Destiny 2 had the mega update today, however it is sitting at 55GB (exactly what it should be) and Payday 2 I haven't compared to others but I am pretty sure is correct.

I will do a full re-install of Hitman (2016) shortly just to see what the file size is after a re-install.

Re-installed, still 68.3 GB.
Hey everyone! Can someone help me. I get error notification everytime I start the game. It says this:

"[ERROR] Invalid Stock ID UnsupportedPlayableDoNotNotify!"
"Fixitfixitfixit"

I already tried validating the Game Cache and files.

Could someone please help me solve this. :)
3gb for "server work"? Hard to believe, to be honest. I don't really mind the size, but the answer is a little funny to me. Anyone here care to explain how that could be possible?

I got the same here, interesting since the game worked fine before this patch. I uninstalled the game, checked files integrity, tried offline, still the same message. "Nothing noticeable by players" uh ?

can you fix the nonsense crashes to desktop on your EGL version
how to run on Dx12 on Epic version?
why dont write on epic community? oh wait, it does not have one) one more reason to never buy games there and boycott hitman 3 until its released on steam 1 year later with 50% off, as apology for making us wait extra year.

Looks like still no answer on why the game's install size is now 3GB more for no reason. High-capacity and high performance SSDs are still quite expensive these days (so install size is important).
can you patch the Epic version? Steam has Dx12 but Epic version doesnt
