Several things wrong with your post.
1. It's not entitlement to expect the full product of which one has paid for. To be honest, before the game was released, they failed to properly convey that you were not getting a full product to begin with, as well as the episodic release.
2. Not an INDEPENDENT developer. Independent developers don't have franchises, or usually, Triple A titles. Anyone with common sense knows this. I think it's time you stopped overzealously fanboying, because you sound similar to a Trump supporter.
3. Also SPOILER, what on this forsaken planet ever gave you the misguided idea that A) Developers make less than Minimum wage somehow (They don't, they definitely don't) and B) That any of this money went to said employees, and not the board members/financeers instead. Pure naivity to think that.
4. First off, pure conjecture. Second off, their money, they can spend it on whatever they want. Comparing is like apples and helicopters. As well, none of your business what they spend their money on.
5. Irony, is the final point. You complain, judge and whine about entitlement, but your post reeks of it. You are entitled enough to think that somhow, your opinion is significantly more valid than anyone elses. Well, I hate to tell you that you are WRONG!
On that note, my actual opinion on the topic at hand. Do I think what IO did was a tad sleezy? Yes. Am I going to rant and rage about it? Only in my head, cuz no one else will listen. Will I be "upgrading"? Probably, even though I was disappointed with this game to begin with. Unfortunately, still a pretty avid Hitman fan (as long as they stop making movies).

THAT was S1.
anything extra will obviously cost money. and it's normally how extra content works...
Independent developers are independent because they are independent, not because many of them lack franchises or AAA games.
Also that's a nice way to shove politics into a forum about a video game. It would be still silly but more adequate to just start calling people gamergaters when they disagree with you.
Wow you really believe this game is full of content?
Let me tell you how I see this game as a seasoned hitman player:
This games only has 6 maps. (the tutorial really doesn't count)
That's all the content I see. All the rest is just sometihng any modder with the right tools could do. The story is not there, all the target are just dolls waiting to be killed however you choose.
If this is the future of Hitman I really hope the franchise dies before Season 2 is announced.
This GOTY is just an excuse to see if there are enough people willing to trow money for a new season.
Not to mention, IO also had to pay for the Hitman license. That also cost money, shockingly.
It's been that way for a while
A season pass implies all content released "in a season"
Additional seasons, additional costs
How is that not logical?
The option is abandon a game and release a whole new game at full price
Quite frankly I'd rather have seasons and expand upon the game that exists instead of multiple sequels all with different launchers that don't feel as connected

Escalation contracts - it's lazy work and noone likes them
185 Featureds - doesn't take much effort to feature someone's contract on the homepage
1 Holiday mission - a reskin
Then you do Challenge Packs and get reskins for weapons (lol)
They should stop basing everything off of mediocre maps and actually make some good ones. If you browse Metacritic you'll find:
Marrakesh - 75
Colorado - 70
Bangkok - 71
Then they punish us for buying the game earlier and we have to spend $120 instead of others who paid $60. They're soon going to become greedier than Activision. Hiding everything behind a paywall.
Why would I care about metacritic? I don't need anyone else to tell me whether the game is fun for me
Sounds like you don't like anything about the game, so why don't you just stuff it and move on with your life
As if a 70-75 is even a bad rating
And if you are going to be that nitpicky to try and prove your opinion is that widespread, try actually READING the reviews that were posted as 70's
The reviews are loaded with comments like
"It is indeed a very good episode with stunning and huge environments, loaded with some breathtaking crowds, but it probably lacks variety and coherence that made Sapienza such a great place"
And that's from someone who gave Marrakesh a 70. He (along with most) called it "very good" and only rated it a 70 because it wasn't as brilliant as Sapienza
In your world apparantly "very good" is code for "bad"
You are looking for excuses to support your minority opinion that the levels were bad when their only crime was not being quite as amazing as some of the others
