what makes it garbage?
knighttime Jul 22, 2017 @ 11:58am
why?

I personally, LOVED it. Everything in it was great. It's tough. But the amount of details put into a military styled like camp full of mercs was just amazing.

Just bland looking, Everything in the mission is a chore to track down. It does not have the same charm in the environments as the other missions. Boring conversations between characters.

The only thing that baffles me in this mission is the very first starting point. You start behind cover attached to it and you have to go through the window. While I can understand the starting point small area itself (to make people notice they are in off limits area) I don't get the cover other than "immersion".
It is one button press, but repeating it over and over again is somewhat annoying. In my opinion it is design oversight, because gameplay-wise there is no point to it other than waste time.

They do actually talk things about the place, their future plans etc, and I believe references to the next parts of the game, atleast they did that in paris and the club hotel mission. One I remember very vividly is where they talk about a target they are going to ambush, with the vans they are currently working on. They are also training the ambush over and over inside the barn. The end of that mission has also the biggest spoiler/easter egg drop ive seen in a hitman game. It has refferences to quite a few of the previous hitman games and their targets there, including the blood money opera singer.

@Sivarg what i mean is the casual conversations. So while you are in the middle of assasinating someone you actually feel like a badass because no one know that you are there to kill. In the Colorado mission everyone is Rough Mcmilitary.

@sivarg the biggest problem i have with it though is how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bland it looks and feels. It does not really "feel" as open as the other missions. In my opinion nothing will get close to bangkok! That mission was insanely good. Colorado isnt very memorable, everything looks the same.

I thought it was a dumb map as well. But after playing it you gain more knowledge about the map. That's what makes it more enjoyable for me.

I also like how real it looked too. There is just so much detail in the house for example.

First time I played the map was during an elusive target, worst decision ever. lol. I played it extremely careful and slow and managed to get it, but not without a few hurdles along the way.

Oh you're gonna love the escalation. The one where there's a stalker after you after level 3 iirc. :Original_Assassin:

Oh god, that one was actually one of the hardest escalations imo. And it felt creepy, for once in hitman, I actually felt afraid, really made you paranoid and you'd spam the sense ability key over and over for anybody suspiciously close and youre well aware an NPC wouldnt be there at that location, making you panic. Think you couldnt kill him or get him close to you and spot you, and you would lose? Think it was like that.
