DX12 or DX11?
I don't have Wangblows 10 installed at the moment, is it worth it to install it to get this game to run in DX12 or not?

Thanks fams.

Nope.

DX12 support has been very hit and miss in terms of performance gain. There doesn't seem to be any real improvement to the visuals from enabling it and DX11 is overall more stable and performant.

If you're using an AMD card then yes, not just for hitman but pretty much any game that supports dx12 gives you an increase in fps ranging from a minor increase of 5 fps up to 20 fps in some games, however since it's kinda new it's still a bit unstable in some games but this will change in the coming year when more games are built with dx12 in mind.

However if you're using nvidia don't even bother it'll just wreck the stability of the game with no benefits.

Amd = don't... I get better and a more stable performance in the game with DX12 (varies), but sometimes it changes light textures to make it look... rainbowy.

This...heavily depends on your system. On mine (AMD CPU + GPU) DX11 is a slideshow with lots of stuttering. DX12, however, runs perfect with everything on max, obtaining over 30FPS at nearly all times.

So if you're having any performance issues DX12 is very much worth a try.

On my GTX1080, dx12 has better performance, 5-8 fps more than dx11, but dx11 more stable, when using dx12, there is texture flickering every now and then, really annoying.

I get frequent crashes on DX12 (1h between crashes) but not a single crash on DX11.
